with the bug fix patch 4.11.1 completed we are now focusing on development of 4.12. We plan to complete it some time this year. We will frequently inform you about major and minor features, to keep you entertained.
Updates:
Flyable planes: Hawk 75 (Finnish version) Ki-45 Kai Hei Ki-45 Kai Tei Ki-45 Kai Ko Ki-45 Kai Otsu
AI planes: Vickers Wellington Bristol Beaufort
New ground objects: German submarines Type VIIB and Type IXB
AI improvements: Taxi to take off
Facelifts: P-38 cockpit repaint P-40E new 3D model
Miscellaneous: Change in scoring system - shared kills Independent management for multi-turret tanks T-28/T35 Wide screen support and GUI changes
Our first update probably isn't much of a surprise for anyone who's been following this board, but we still want to officially announce it. Patch 4.12 will add a cockpit to the Hawk 75 we already have as an AI plane, and make it flyable. The cockpit will be for the Finnish version. Finland acquired and operated more than 40 Hawks throughout the war.
This weeks update shows a little change in the scoring system. Patch 4.12 will introduce shared kills, which was historical practice in many air forces and has been requested by the community. It will no longer be the last pilot to put in a shot which gets all the credit. The below video shows an example from offline play.
Today we are presenting an new feature for the AI, which will be included in patch 4.12. It will be possible to have AI taxi for take off on the airfield. This feature will work with spawning from stationary planes as well as with normal spawning. The mission builder has to set the route to the runway, and it works on any type of airfield. Below a video showing how it might look.
Today's update show one of the smaller projects that will find their way into 4.12 - the repainted cockpit for the P-38. Cockpit updates are among the most frequent requests we are getting, so, here is one.
This week we'd like to announce that the Ki-45 Kai Hei and the Ki-45 Kai Tei, that have been added as AI planes in 4.11, will receive a cockpit and be flyable in 4.12.
The below screenshots show the cockpit, the gunner with the unique gun training mechanism of the Ki-45's rearward gun, a shot of what the big nasty 37mm cannon can do, and in case you're wondering what the second gunsight on top of the canopy frame is doing, a shot of the slanted guns installed in the Tei models fuselage as well as an idea of how to use them.

Update July 13th, 2012 - Part 1
This week update will contain a bit more pictures, since the last update is already quite some time ago. It will be made in four parts.
Part 1: We are happy to announce the often requested rework of the P-40E (and following) series - you know: the 'upward bent wings issue'. In fact this is a completely new model, made from scratch by our member 'Macwan'. (note: all pictures are WIP shots!)
Part 2 Lets present a few more pics, to show the detail, that goes into such work.
And because this question may raise up: No - the old skins will not match anymore. The decision was made, because the old mapping was awfull. So this model got a full new mapping - no shared parts (like half of lower side mirrored) anymore.
Part 3 Additional to the two versions of the Ki-45 Kai (as AI) - released with 4.11 - you will get two further versions: Ki-45 Kai KO and Ki-45 Kai OTSU.
These two are earlier versions, easily recognizable by their shorter nose, which carries a central landing light. All 4 plane types will be flyable in 4.12 naturally.
Part 4 Last but not least we look down to the surface. Here we have two new German submarines - the Type VIIB (made by 3rd party) and the Type IXB.
Further on as a new feature, the heavy Russian tanks T-28 and T-35 with their multi-turret layout will now be able to handle their turrets independently. This (multigun-)feature might be adopted to other units (bunkers, flak-turrets or similar) later.
This time we'd like to share a few features in the GUI and in flight. We'll leave it to the community to find everything and will only name one: 4.12 will have true wide screen support, which was the most popular community request at the time we started development.

I'm sure one of the modders will make a cockpit repaint in english for the Hawk.

The plan is to have at least a french cockpit in A-3/4 and maybe an additional A-2 for french and finns, plus a unique P-36A or C for the US. Main difference would be in armament and engines. But maybe this is to much yet for 4.12.
cant you just take hsfx and up30 take all there stuff and put it into your version since they wont merge To make it a better community all under one patch with everything included like it should be.
Still the game has higher numbers then cod but dwindling fast. Wish we have 1000+ all under one version with virtualpilots grennadich and greatergreen
Any how the development shots look great.

HSFX 6 will include all content from 4.11.1. Sometime after 4.12 is released, I'm sure there will be another version of HSFX to include it's content as well. Only UP has refused to keep up with official updates.

Didn't see anything on NGNB or B-24, we will keep our fingers crossed...

UP is done, the guy running it has reportedly quit which is IMO good because there was a lot of infighting and accusations of stealing others work and changing it for His Mod pack that was only serving to put a rift right through the middle of the mod community. TD is incorporating much of the best work of modders that can be used without stepping into the NG thing or similar.

Just curious...what was the guy's name?
Aviar
I believe it was HaDeS, I would say more but it wouldn't be first hand information, I was never interested in what UP was doing because of the accusations of stealing others work and claiming ownership. There was a thread on this issue but it is gone now so... here is one: http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=33747

Did you notice that there is a new Server side switch "Allow Custom Sounds Online" that allows mod sounds to be used online? http://youtu.be/95WGJm3KbxA?t=1m

Good question, Imo it would not make sense to allow them to be used online and not allow them to be used offline but I do not know. Sorry.

Are you guys going to add a warning dialogue for the refly and exit buttons in the campaign menus? It'd be nice to have a safety system to keep me from wiping a missions results (especially if I've just landed on a wing and a prayer - which has happened a few times)

My thought exactly . I was surprised and delighted by the reveal and the it looks like they've rendered the Kate to their usual super-high standard. If they make a B6N for 4.13 we'll be able to fly IJN Torpedo planes for the whole war...awesomeness.
Speaking of ridiculous things, would be really nice if in 4.12 TD would remove those as laughable as irritating "recovered stalls" of rookie AI when pressed by a player's attack. In these occasion, indeed, AI performs a simply absurd fast series of "somersaults", then retaking aircraft control, often at a few meters from ground. I saw something similar performed by best skilled aerobatic pilots, but that "thing" done in game by a panicked recruit is unbelievable!

Actually that seems plausible to me - I'm no noob, but not very good also and those spins and close call recoveries happen to me, and they happened to me even more often when I was a complete beginner (that is, when I finally learned to recover).
Anyway, one needs to realise that even a rookie pilot in the war was still a pilot (contrary to most of us). They had their training and knew how to handle their machine. What made people become aces was more combat skills (gunnery, knowing when to attack, choosing their prey etc.) rather than raw piloting skills.
Still I agree that more AI tweaking is required, but I would opt primarily to focus on following mission objectives, right now AI ignores bombers being shot to pieces and trains they are supposed to bomb and it happens too often IMO.

But I've also seen them end up as a smoking hole in the ground sometimes when they do this.
I had to laugh last night while flying the closing mission of an older Wake Island campaign. In desperate maneuver, I pulled my F4F up into a steep climb to try to evade three zeros on my tail. In their usual dogged determination, they followed right behind. I heard a crash and looked back to see a fireball and subsequent wreckage of two zekes falling into the ocean. Those dummies had collided with one another in their attempt to shoot me down.
I've got the same problem as Bearcat99. Seems there is a fair amount of people that can't reach the 1C forums at the moment. I've checked their site with this handy tool and it's up and running alright. It's just that some people can't reach it for some reason. DNS problem or did they move the their server to IPv6?
I don't have Comcast. Live in Sweden by the way. Seems there's a lot of people from Sweden having problem accessing the 1C site. There's a thread going on in the CoD forums about this issue. The trick to access the 1C site is to use a proxy. Links in the thread here:
It's been a while since the last update, but don't worry, we're still working. We're finalizing 4.12 contents, as some of the new contents is not complete as of yet. We've also compiled a second Alpha version, to allow us proper testing of the completed features.
One of the new technical features of 4.12 is the addition of Mach related drag as a global flight model change. At high speeds, the current model was inaccurate, drag being too low, allowing too high speeds in dives. This will be addressed now, and will effect all aircraft with individual characteristics for each aircraft. Since a picture says more than a thousand words, we've attached a chart showing the differences you can expect to see.
Speaking of flight models, we'd also like to take the opportunity to announce that several planes will receive reworked flight models, most notably the P-36, P-40, B5N and SB2. In past we've received many questions regarding flight model changes, so this time we've prepared a small document to give a little insight into the flight model making process. v412 flight modelling pdf
And the guys who have been working on the B-24D wrote that they have completed the modelling work of the exterior and interior and have submitted the files to TD. Something in the next patch to look forward to.
