Yeah... quite a coincidence. When I started playing with the DayZ mod a few weeks ago, the average life expectancy was around 4 1/2 hours. Since the mod has gone viral and there is a huge influx of noobs looking for instant gratification, that statistic has really been skewed. Some of the more talented bandits must have a lot of scalps in their backpacks by now!

Count me as a "talented" survivor; My character is already a week old in real life time.

That's pretty good THX-1138. I think I've managed to keep my character alive for 5 days. Sadly, he is no longer with us. LOL

I have learned the hard way. The first couple of days I was shot at the face for no reason, soon after I just stayed away from anyone with an exception of a kind heart survivor that provided me with a much needed blood transfusion. At that moment I had great gear but was almost dying so I had not much to loose by trusting a "stranger". He helped and ran his way; never seeing him again.

I thought I read somewhere that the original life expectancy stats were inaccurate due to some bug. I thought the exact same thing as you as well.
