While DayZ is currently very popular and has an extensive following on SimHQ, that is not why we opened a sub-forum for it.

The reason a sub-forum was opened is, it is based on Arma 2, a game we already strongly support, and have a dedicated forum and download area. The Arma 2 forum has several posts on DayZ, and we need to keep the two worlds apart for discussions -- but we don't want to chase the discussion of DayZ out of the forums for those of you who enjoy it.

We recently were asked to create an RPG forum, and it was declined, because that is not SimHQ's area of focus. Neither is DayZ, but arguably, had Skyrim been built on an already supported simulation title such as DayZ is, it would have been considered.

Why isn't Iron Front: Liberation 1944 a sub-forum of our Arma 2 forum? Because it fits more with the SimHQ charter of simulations.

As long as DayZ is a popular title based on Arma 2 technology, we will offer a sub-forum for it.

If this makes sense, great. If it doesn't, you can yell at me. biggrin

I dunno, if ever there was a "Living in a Fantasy Realm" simulator, Skyrim is it.

If ever there was a "Zombie Apoclypse" DayZ would be its simulator. I don't see any spaceship/space combat simulators on here either, so I get your drift. smile But you can tell what the simulator guys like. High fidelity, whether its a P51, or a Zombie killing 2 handed blade.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

I still keep hope that us travelling SimHQ gypsie RPG players will get a home someday but for now I think the DayZ subforum was a great idea, glad also to keep the currently active discussion from overriding the normally great Arma2 discussion.

problem is... no ones posting in ArmA2 anymore, and few are playing... damn ZOMBIES! wink

HEY, new Skyrim DLC coming, trailer out... looks great. wink

(actually I was being funny... but come to think about it... a zombie Skyrim mod would be cool.)
