I was not creative, I thought they were asking for my user name (jwrich). I didn't know I could make one up. Is it too late to change it?

.

We had this very interesting discussion about three years ago over in the CA OFF forums as well, and I will simply quote myself from that thread. I took my screen name to honor my father Louvert Larson who, despite his best and repeated efforts, was never allowed to serve in the armed forces during WW2. Due to health issues Uncle Sam classified him 4-F and he had to stay at the homefront while all his friends went off to war, (several of whom did not returned). He was never OK with it, right up until the day he died back in 1974 from a massive heart attack. I think of him often when I see my screen name, and I attempt to be as fair and honorable as I possibly can be in remembrance of a man who was ready to do his part, and would have willingly died for the chance to do so way back when. I of course am glad he did not or I would not be here now, nor would his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Life is funny, and not always in a humorous way.

Lou

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your point of view. I have many nieces and nephews, with a few grandchildren in the mix

Lou, I prefer it this way - with you being here.
Your dad may have done more for the world, than he possibly could have in a terrible war.

'Dej' has been my nickname since college. I like neither my full first name nor the common abbreviations of it so my best friend came up with this amalgam and I've been that ever since. Started of with a hard 'j' as 'Dedg' but the various women in my life have softened it to the 'j' of French 'jamais' hence the 'Dezh' you see here.

My other main internet moniker is 'Aelgas' which was the first AD&D character I ever played. Seems to have been usurped, but a search on 'Aelgas' or 'Aelgas Ga'r Nessa will bring up a fair bit of the creative detritus I've left behind me all these years!

It's an old story I've told before. I shoot black powder, and at one particular wet, miserable rendezvous I earned my name. It involved cold, wet, a fire in a TeePee and a lot of alcohol.

Leaf is what I went by on the ancient Interplay forums for Baldurs Gate (Bioware), the eight five has a special meaning to me, however you'll more likely see me online as [1stHssr]Baldric (or in flight sims [H20]Baldric). I was one of the founders of the 1st Hussars Battlefield 1942 clan, based in the UK and EU, that is still active today and will be our tenth anniversary in October/November this year. We settled on a Blackadder theme, and the H20 is Hussars 20 Minuters Squadron... ^.^
