Ive been away a while . On returning I read about DCS World a lot and Ive been all over the DCS site and downloads but I cant seem to find World anywhere. Where do I download it?

Hope someone can help me . This is confusing.

easily enough is contained in DCS P51-D torrent download.
All you have to do is get that torrent and when you're asked which files to download skip the P51 one and only get the other 3 or 4.

Or you can just DL everything and when you buy P51 you can use the code you receive to unlock it.

Be mindful, you do not need any purchase to test flight DCS World, but you cannot join ANY MP server unless you buy an extra module.

Still on DCS A-10C v1.1.1.1 here...

So hold on, if I OWN DCS A-10C and DCS: Black Shark 2, I can play DCS World multiplayer versus other doods flying P-51s or do I need to buy P-51 to join any servers at all?

You don't need to buy it. You just need DCS: World with the BS2 and W modules. Since you already own the stand-alones, all you need it to download those 3 pieces and you can fly - the keys for your stand-alones should work in the new core/plugin model. You probably have the grab the P-51 module so that you can participate in the same servers, but you don't actually need to buy it.

All that said, you might want to wait for all those pieces to come out of beta first.

Minor correction: the P-51D module is only needed if you intend to fly the P-51D yourself. No need to install it otherwise. (The P-51D is already in World, but only as AI object/external model etcetera, the P-51D module itself, just like the W and BS2 modules, contain the things you need to fly it yourself; cockpit, AFM, training missions etcetera.)

(It might even be annoying to install it, since it'll start prompting for a license key. At present there is also no uninstall of modules in the beta.)

Do a lot of people fly in these DCS World servers? I'm sure you can upgrade from the DCS World beta to final at some point, right? The SU-25T is in it now eh?

You can only fly in the multiplayer servers if you have added at least one additional module to DCS World. SU-25 can be flown in single player without any additional module.

I downloaded DCS World and the new A-10C Beta, but have not installed them yet. I think by the weekend of the 15th we can get everything updated.

A couple of questions, still...
I am thinking of doing a side-by-side install of the DCS World and A-10C combo next to my v1.1.1.1, but would that change my /..User../Saved Games/A-10C/ files such that they would only work on the new version and not on the old v1.1.1.1?


FYI - all my missions are at a version of v2x or lower, so when I re-compile them on the updates they will go to v3x.


For these downloads I got uTorrent. Both of the DCS World and A-10C files downloaded fine, and not the uTorrent shows a status of 'seeding' - what does that mean? I have not used a torrent before.

I'm new at the torrent too. My guess is that after your download completes, you are now "seeding" the file for others. Probably good mannners to stay on the torrent for awhile.

It creates a new folder in saved games called "dcs". It will be very similar to your savedgames\WH folder. One of the differences is that in the config folder there will be a folder for each of the flyable aircraft and all relevant control setups will go in there.

I would keep your missions from 1.1.1.1 separate from the ones in World. I'm not certain if compatibility is maintained between older and newer versions. I think it would depend on whether or not they changed the code and if you have something new. Basically it should be safe to assume that older to newer versions should always work, while new files in the older sim are not guaranteed to work.


Torrent works by downloading bits of the files from multiple users. When you are seeding the file it means other users can download bits of the file from you.

That is just what I was looking for - good news, too, to be able to keep the v1.1.1.1 install in place. I'll do the new DCSW installs tonight or tomorrow.

Well, I got it installed - DCS World Beta and the A-10C Beta.

Everything went fine and it did put the sim and user files into new folders so my v1.1.1.1 should still be working.

I got my Warthog assignments all done (the Reference section above has a lot of notes about axis curves and button assignments).

The Radio Menu mouse doesn't work. I could not find a solution, but others in DCS Forums are talking about it.

The snap views for the cockpit where you press RCntrl-Num0 and then Num1, Num2 and Num3 don't work the way they used to - I can't get a snap view Num1 to the lower left console for the radios and commo control panel - instead it is a closer view of the Left MFCD, Num2 won't get me to the lower right panel for lighting and ILS and Tacan, and Num3 does not give me a close up of the CDU (maybe I have the Num2 and Num3 mixed, never-the-less they don't work). Also reported in DCS Forums.
