Greetings, Wodin. Things are going well here. Summer is burgeoning on the Massachusetts coast. 'Hope things are copecetic in your part of the world. I was thinking about you last night as I watched an episode of History Channel's "Dogfight". The pilot being interviewed said that before he deployed, a friend (who had flown in WWI) told him that the easiest time to shoot a plane down was when he was about to shoot down another. Of course, you were rammed by a wingman, but the lesson is the same: CHECK SIX! CHECK SIX! CHECK SIX! Keep that TrackIR smokin'.

Greetins to all,

First off, cudos to the developers of this flight sim. My first flight out of Jasta 2 flying a Halberstadt DII was simply fantastic! Shot down 3 fine Brits in a sweat filled duel and then the 4th did me in and a spinning I did go. My experience with WW1 flight sim goes back to the Red Baron 2D release in 90's right through to Full Canvas Jacket, which I am sure most, if not all of the forum members remember so well. Retired from it for quite some years and happened upon OFF just a few weeks back. It is wonderful to see that the WW1 sim community is still alive and kicking with dedicated developers and fans alike. Looking forward to catching up on all the forum comments and conversing with some of the finest folks in sim history.

Welcome Over Flanders Fields, Tailspinner!
You won't be asthonshed to hear that some of the devs had their fingers already in
RB3D, or at least in the mods to it.
Please tell me your hometown; I'll add you to the "OFF Pilots Maps" then
(they are over at the Combat Ace OFF forum).

Welcome to the War sir.

My advice : You usually get killed when you think you are the hunter but really you are the one being hunted.

Always take a check around, especially right before you engage an enemy aircraft. The little bastards do use teamwork.

and if you get to 17 hours, be sure to raise a glass to all those who never will. Many of them are already dead. The rest are sitting in the bar with you.

Thanks for the advise Hellshade. BTW. really enjoy your video posts.

Since writing my reply, I have not survived in OFF for more than 6 hours of flight time. One has to appreciate the flight model realism of this sim even flying in easy mode. Immersion is deep and can only imagine how good P4 is going to be.

Thank Lothar,

I will be downloading your recommended Mod bundles shortly. Looking forward to the experience and appreciate the efforts of those who developed these add-ons to allow us OFF junkies to enjoy this fine sim.
