Finally got out and about to something that involved aircraft.
This particular airshow was to highlight the diamond jubilee of Queen Liz II, and featured a number of aircraft through the decades. The only downside, if any, was that I forgot to pack my suncream and that the Southend airshow occurred on the same weekend, so Duxford was sharing aircraft for the day.
Embraer/Shorts Tucano decked out in a special Jubilee livery;
The ever-present Sally-B made a couple of passes;
This Eurofighter from #6 Sqn turned up out of the blue for a quick fly-by before its demo;
An RN Lynx, which will soon be replaced with the Lynx Wildcat;
An obligatory pass by the BBMF trio;
This Hurricane paired up with two Hawker Nimrods for their display;
A Belgian F-16 has quite a stunning display, popping flares too!
A pair of XtremeAir Sbach 300s under the guise of the Red Bull Matadors, piloted by Paul Bonhomme and Steve Jones;
A SAR Sea King performed a little CASEVAC before taking a bow;
Quite new to the airshow party is this Meteor T7, which was finally restored to flying condition last year.
