Hhmmpf.
The Season1 BluRay box arrived yesterday, and by coincidence GF and me watched a 7-episode marathon the weekend before, the only episodes I haven't yet seen are 2 and 3.
And the thing I most admired was how close they stay to the book. Now it's a bit saddening to hear Season2 is not like that.
BTW, I have a bigger worry: What if HBO realizes they don't want to commit to three more years (and maybe even longer, we don't yet even know if Book6 will finish anything?) and so maybe HBO is setting up plot lines that will allow them to cut and conclude the story earlier? Certainly by Book5 there still is no end in sight anywhere, in fact it all just gets more dynamic. Not exactly the thing a big TV Station might want to commit to.
I did like one change, though. Even though in the books he was "just" Tyrion's bodyguard, making Bronn head of the Gold Cloaks gave him more screen time and more funny dialogue. Bronn is one of my favourite "supporting characters".
Bronn needs his own Spinoff series. Maybe after he becomes a lord or whatnot. He is about to have a little fun at Blackwater.

Here we go again. For better or for worse, may tonight's episode deliver Martin's story.

That was just an absolutely stunningly awesome episode.

It's great at leaving you conflicted, isn't it. I mean I really want the Lannisters to get their asses kicked but then Tyrion / Bronn / Dog on that side of the fence are all great. And it's hard not to like Tywin too, Charles Dance does a great job.
Haven't read the books, so I don't know what's coming!
