So here I am on my quad core 3.1 GHz, 6 GB RAM Lenovo with integrated AMD 760G graphics, which claims it borrows up to 1 GB of RAM from the RAM.

And it kinda sucks. I Call of Duty 4 on it in 800x600. LOMAC/FC2 is in 1280x800 with all settings to med/low. ARMA (the original) wouldn't play at all. I was miffed.

Now, LOMAC 1 runs fine (many of you may remember me calling out for LOMAC 1 players for online)), but I don't like too many things about the sim. The things I dont like in LOMAC are fixed in FC2. But the graphics are borderline unbearable. I probably spend 1/2-1/3 of my time tweaking graphics. Yes, I have the cloud and cockpit mods and so forth. And no, I'm leaving the mirrors because they're too useful.

Now in ModMan I could work all those sliders to adjust and tweak the graphics, but I've found that doesn't happen with FC2. Is that a glitch?

I read in another thread that FC2's graphics are more CPU dependent than graphic card dependent.

Other things I've tried to research is how to tweak my AMD 760G settings, and how to manually tell my graphics card to grab that 1 GB of RAM And use it, but documentation on this is not to be found.

Can anyone help me out here? I'm really kinda goin' nuts over this thing.

Thanks in advance for your help, and thanks again to all the modders who have uploaded their labors of love so I could enjoy this game, too... especially the 142nd wing livery (although with their new F-15Cs they use the traditional, lighter ghost gray camouflage pattern and have gotten rid of the older, grayer tones).

Any hints? Links? Suggestions? Thanks again in advance.

Are you sure you can't let the mirrors go? Mine turned from slideshow to playable (20-30 fps) just by disabling that thing alone. You can always use the "look back" key instead.

Well, I do have to admit, in 5+ years of flying LOMAC, they've only saved me 2 times, but they're still cool... Once I knew the fight was down to 1v1 a Flanker, I was totally blind, then I saw some tracers flash by in my mirror, hard bunted over and popped the brake, pulled up and got him with a heater. Then just last week same background, saw him in my top mirror and got away to reverse and gun him... at about 14 fps.

So I killed the mirrors, dropped the rez down a notch, but got to crank up the texturing and kick out the visual distance to max... now I get rates of 25-40 which makes for better, smoother guns kills. Only dips to the teens when I et within, like 100 ft of another jet. I got Jumper's cockpit mod so the mirrors still show. I needed that since I've sat in an F-15 cockpit and seen how big and prominent they are in the real thing.

So thanks, MFlyer- your suggestion worked and I'm enjoying flying much more now.
