What a great weekend to be an FSX enthusiast. smile

(I don't even mind that that it has rained and snowed all day here.)

Does this new version fix the DX 10 flickering?

Would that be the runways/taxiways etc? I'd doubt it, as that's not caused by REX. AFAIK you can get rid of the flickering by editing the affected airfield itself, although I've yet been unable to do that.

Okay, but HOW do you download it for FREE? Flight Sim store is asking for my credit card info. I have REX2.0 and REX Overdrive installed, in case you're wondering.

If you bought REX 2.0 from FSS you should see that your download link for REX 2.0 is now a link to REX Essentials full.

I was able to download it without paying anything so you might want to doublecheck that you were logged in.

Downloaded and installed fine once I uninstalled REX 2.0+OD, looks like a nice upgrade although I haven't had much time to tweak it yet.

If you bought REX2.0 from The Flightsim Store, the full version of Essential has replaced it in your account of items you have purchased and that you can download unlimited # of times. Log in to your Flightsim Store account and look at your history of purchases, then select REX.

There is not yet a version of Essentials available to upgrade REX+Overdrive. You'll have to uninstall REX+Overdrive to install Essential, and/or wait until there is an Essentials Overdrive full and/or upgrade version available.

The full version of Essential now downloadable at FSS is 4.25GB in filesize. If you still have your REX 2.0 install files, you can start there and then add a 1.25GB Essential upgrade which is available at the REX community forums. There is also a post thre that explains how to prepare your REX2.0 install for the upgrade so look for that thread as well as the thread with the links to the upgrade.

Great,

I hope the REX OD upgrade is coming soon too.

edit: btw. what a great service, I think they easily could have charged a few € for this upgrade.

Yeah totally agree, terrific gesture that the upgrade is free of charge to existing customers (same as OD was), plus I'm really liking the new weather depictions of haze, fog and overcast conditions.

The only con so far is the initial METAR calculations when I start up REX WX takes longer.

Also it was interesting to discover that I don't really miss the Overdrive textures so far, I'll definitely upgrade to the OD version once that is out, but I've found that the non-OD version of REX Essentials available now has some terrific textures as is.

Due to work schedule I was unable to make it to either of the DTP TS3 events (REX or A2A), so I appreciate the head's-up on the FSBreak info Lewis. Thanks!
