Maybe I'm dense (there's a softball for someone!) but I am having difficulty (read, I can't do it) opening a script file created or saved by the Script Editor (default extension is .tmc) in the TARGET GUI. I receive a message:

Code:
Cannot load project
<project path and filename>

The file is corrupted:
Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1. Position 1

I did a quick Google search on the error message and learned that is (in some instances anyway) related to an .xml file format error.

Has anyone had luck opening a .tmc file in the GUI (which saves in .fcf format)? If you have, how did you accomplish it? Please don't reply to me by saying something like "why would you want to do that, anyway?" It seems to me that the files ought to be interchangeable so that additions or edits can be done by either software, but I haven't been able to do so and it's a PITA to have to redo an entire script in the GUI just to make a minor edit (or a major one, when it comes to the new additions of the LEDs).

a script editor file can only be launched from the GUI main page. You cannot edit it. The File generated by the GUI have a much more complex structure than the TMC files.

You can copy the contents of an .fcf file and paste it into the script editor, but it doesn't work the other way around.

The script editor is a much more powerful programming tool than the GUI...

You can always tweak a .fcf file pasted into the script editor (even though it wouldn't look as "clean" as if you had written it from scratch). Unfortunately, there's no way to make changes to a .tmc file in the GUI though (such is life).

How would you do this (copy an fcf to a script)? What part of the .fcf can be run as a script? I have a GUI file I built, really don't want to have to go back and redo it in script, but I need to be able to add some "TRIMDXAXIS" commands, which, unless I missed something, aren't available in the GUI.

You can't "copy the fcf to the script", but in the GUI you can click "view script" and paste that into the script editor...but there is no way to take a script file and open it in the GUI again.

So you could take what you have, "view script", add your trimdxaxis stuff...but then any further changes would have to be made in the script editor because you can't re-import those commands into GUI mode.

From the main screen...what you get when you open TARGET GUI....the "RUN CONFIGURATION" button.
