Joined the SimHQ Iron Front server today... joined in with a already in progress armor vs armor multiplayer battle, jumped into Tigerwulf's tank as his gunner... great teamwork and tactical coordination in a nice hull down position engaged 3 enemy tanks, destroying 1 and assisting with another... then someone, and I still haven't found out who it was because when I do... BANNED! (just kidding), jumps into our tank and starts driving it around... This ain't BF3 hero! lol

He quickly left, and then another tank... but then we ran out of ammo.

Still great fun, and a great battle...

and then I speculated a co-op mission lead by fatty... filming didn't work to well do to the jumping around, but a few screens:

Great game, with new small issues... hopefully will be addressed, along with great missions for our SimHQ server.

The gunnery looks wrong - range set on zero still. You should be seeing the range dialled to estimate plus 200m.

Can you confirm that this either isn't available, or post a few screens/video showing the proper range estimation/laying procedures?

While the Tiger/Panther Fibel are not perfect technical manuals (some obvious errors in drawings of eg sight picture range scales etc, and errors in armour values assumed for protection/penetration roses), the instructions *for use* are quite accessible (and a lot more fun than English manuals).

Awesome video. Toward the end that one tank was shooting while moving. Was that something typically done with WW2 tanks?

You can dial in your range, and the sights do adjust to the desired range. I think Magnum is leaving it on "zero" and just eye-balling his shots, since it's all happening at fairly close range.

exactly... and I'm still looking to understand the sight tool... but in the heat of the moment like we were having, just prefer to estimate and rely on the TC's feedback.

Ok, but still makes sense to preset to the battlesight range, rather than zero. Compare the M1 GAS sight reticle in SB, where the 'aim point' coincides with 1200m, and you aim low (or not) for ranges less than that). Just because the reticle is like the Leopard GAS doesn't preclude pre-setting for the battlesight range.

With the lower velocity, I think the 'pointblank' range is much lower, but 500-800 sounds like a reasonable spread of suitable ranges.

Beaut screenies. The PPSH would be the perfect weapon for a mid range firefight in a village. I've seen pictures of the MG42 fired from the hip, though I don't think you could hold it like a rifle to fire. Like that second German gunner seems to be doing.

Yea, Mg-42 is a handful even by the hip firing, but shoulder while standing? Probably not unless you are Swartzeneger's big brother!

Nice screens!

BTW: where would I get this game from, and how much does it cost?
