I guess if we install it we can't play online anymore until everyone updates.

Ya probably better hold off I guess. I am very curious if it helps performance.

It will not help performance, nor will an update they release ever help performance.

They did not touch, in any size, the game engine at all. Think of this as a glorified Arma 2 mod (which it is) that you paid 30 dollars for. A set of new textures, models, and sounds (barely). To improve performance, they would have to start optimizing the engine, which again, they have not touched at all.

As it sits the game itself is about 75% arma 2. Look at the trees, the animations, particles, effects, listen to the sounds, etc. You'll figure it out pretty fast.

Hmm funny Arma 2 runs great for me now a days so not sure there isnt anything they can do to IF to improve performance.

I was aware this is just a super mod for Arma 2 when I bought and not sorry I did.

You can play 1.01 on the server, if you have the Steam version, you've already been patched to 1.01.

Jeez, bitter much? A 'glorified Arma 2 mod'? Would you call Red Orchestra a glorified Unreal mod?

I, along with a lot of other folk, don't think it's a bad thing that IF is, in your words, '75% Arma 2'. I paid my money and I have no regrets.

30 dollars couldn't get me and my girlfriend dinner and a movie nowadays, sheesh...

I'd like to know what makes you think the game isn't 75% Arma 2. You can't sit there and tell me it's completely different and worth 30 bucks for a set of new textures, a few missions, and horrible sounds. I'm pretty sure there are better WW2 mods on Armaholic. If steam could offer a refund, I would gladly send my key back.

I'd prefer we hold off until the v1.02 arrives next week.

The server is running, and while there are things to fix, both Steam and non-Steam players can get in there right now.

Soon as the official patch arrives, and a few reports are posted how it is doing, we'll update the server.

Okay who made Jared by this game against his free will and choice. Who? Somebody probably told him it was a super-glorified mod of ARMA2 and it turns out it's only a glorified mod.
