It's a little clip from WOFF development earlier today

Very nice, but I think the disintegration of the plane happens just before the big fire explosion... 0.22 (Wings fall off)- 0.23 (fire explosion) Shouldn't be all he way around?

Extremely impressive. Looks like the sort of stuff that would really happen, and leaving a lasting impression on the pilots who saw such things.
"There he was, smoking first, then on fire high above, and as he lost height, the fire got worse, bits of his kite started tearing off and he started coming at me. By design or by chance I don't know. The fire was by now engulfing his kite and I thought that he would surely take me with him in a fiery collision, but somehow he missed me by the smallest possible margin, and I just sat there, unable to move for what seemed like a very long time."

OFF course we do! We would take anything - spy shots through the chimney; spy drawings done by your dog - whatever!
You guys are getting further and further on your way to ultimate thing. And I bet, you come to dozens of new ideas which you might build into WOFF. That explains the impossibility of making a release date. And knowing this makes it a bit easier to bear the waiting.

Nope in fact it happens both ways around - in fact its simply damage that results in main spar disintegration - can be fire , bullets, rockets, G force , tactical nuclear bombs....
So the combinations of damage incurred and break up are actually quite endless.
But in this case seeing as you cannot look for yourself I will relay the action sequence:
Fire starts at 17 secs (maybe earlier) and at 18 secs the fuel tank ruptures, at 22 secs the wings break away as a result of the damage from the fuel system, fire and G forces exceeding remaining strength. At 23 secs the engine system catches fire....
What we are hoping is that folks realise the complexity and effectiveness of the new DM system shown in this wee clip.
WM
Edit: I meant to add that fire spreads from System to System....

. A really outstanding improvement in the DM, thanks for posting the clip Pol. I am soooooooooooooo ready for WOFF to be released.

Saw it! Looks fantastic! Yes damage can occur in an infinite combination of possibilities, as to what fails first to last. And what is used to cause the damage as you mentioned.

But sir! Only a fool would fly in this aweful weather!
Has to be the most realistic looking disintegration I've see. Seriously top notch. Having seen a fair few photo's of planes on fire dropping to earth and the odd shakey camera work it looks spot on.

OK, I see what you mean and you're probably right. After all gas explosions are not so violent as explosives ones. Hollywood has played it's role definitely, here... Bad science and history teacher! Thanks WM!
PS: Please hurry up we need WOOF so badly! Any thoughts for a downloadable beta release at full game's price? Something like RoF but more valid as: It will help the development team to get some bucks in advance, the beta testers-WOOF enthusiasts will discover possible issues that can be corrected in time before release... and ease their unappeased thirst to play the Game-Sim at the same time. Of course beta testers will get the final game for free. Please say you will consider the possibility...

This is definitely true, elephant, but it wouldn't help anyone, if they collapsed from lack of sleep; or if they finished it half-baken. And two weeks are not that long. Although, their two weeks... No idea what calendar they may be using...
The Dev's are using time dilation as they develop P4.
In the theory of relativity, time dilation is an actual difference of elapsed time between two events as measured by observers either moving relative to each other or differently situated from gravitational masses.
So where our two weeks is passing at the speed of real time thier two weeks is passing at a much slower speed thereby allowing them to accomplish much more in the same timeline. What the actual differential is only the Dev's know and all we can do is assume that at some point they will make their way back onto our plane of existence where their existence will coincide with ours and P4 will be released.
No, I don't understand it either but it sure sounds good!
