Its using the workaround "ironfront.exe" with the "-server" and a modded server.cfg

Lets see if it works biggrin
(guod puts fingers in ears and closes eyes)

Server Name = SimHQ Iron Front v1.61 Server

Please post back in here comments / suggestions / problems, etc. etc.

TIA

Having a problem trying to join the SimHQ Server; after inputting password and hitting 'join', the next page(list of missions)shows briefly then reverts back to list of servers page with the comment "You cannot play/edit this mission: it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted:LIB_Blitzkrieg".
Not sure what this means..I have 18 missions in my MP Missions folder.Any ideas?

Edit Reason: corected mis-speling

Seems to work. Got connected, some sort of Deathmatch thing - got killed, disconnected smile

I'll get set up, but on a first connection it all seems good.

Pronto,

A WAG, but you got the 1.61 patch, correct?

I joined the server early in the day with no problems. There was nobody on at the time.

I just left a group with several players, and we had no problems. FearlessFrog and I both seemed to be having an occasional graphics tearing issue (perhaps related to satchel charges).

But things were fast and clean. And we won!

I was on at the same time as you Frog (as "Skellen" hehe). I shot you in the face loads of times lol (nothing personal of course mate, just business! biggrin ) It was my first ever time on any multiplayer shooter type, and for the first 10 mins or so, I was wandering up to people in the same uniform trying to be friends with them and sh*t, and couldn't understand why they kept killing me. Suddenly, (after 10 mins lol) the penny dropped. Aaaaaah....Deathmatch.

It's quite funny, but a bit daft really and not my kind of format. Maybe the team deathmatch thing would be better. Suppose it was just to test the server though of course. Performance was great my end, excellent FPS and no lag/stutter whatsoever in that village map (which looked cool....even had a scarecrow!)

I also typed about 20 chat messages saying initially 'why is everyone shooting at me' and then 'hello its Biggles07 from SimHQ, pls help me I don't know WTF is going on' to the people who would probably know me (terribletwo was there at the time, yourself and someone else who was familiar) but no one answered *sniffle*.

Nevermind, I meted out my vengeance at you ignoramuses by shooting you, and was top on the 'kill board' until Frog came along and narrowly usurped me. Not bad for an absolute multiplayer beginner though! First time ever, I swear! biggrin

Went on a few other servers after that and did pretty well too, was quite pleased with meself as I expected to get utterly pwned hehe. There was a good mission called "The road to err, somewhere' which was good. Also a Co-op mission called "cleaning up" or something, where we had to rid this village outpost of remaining Huns. Did one where we had to capture or defend these positions (Blitzkrieg it might have been called) and take them sequentially, that was fun too and our side won 3-1. smile Good fun all round!

I was pretty shocked by the meagre 2 single player missions though, as I wanted a bit practice first. It worked out well though as it basically forced me into multiplayer, which is much better....no doubt. yep One bloke did team kill me, but I think it was actually an honest mistake as it was at long range, and he did apologise, which is fair enough.

Anyone flew the planes yet? Just flew the Focke Wulf and Airacobra, as I expected no FM to speak of, but what do you want really in this kind of game, and its ok. The airacobra needs its engine sound tweaked my end, no difference in RPM noise full throttle or idle, FW has a slight change. I did a perfect strafing run on the "parade" of player types with the Focke Wulf lol, I'm going to try and bomb them next....after routinely abusing them with MG 44 bullets and grenades. Hee hee hee! hahaha

Anyone know if its possible to use the FW MG151/131 simultaneously? I can only use them separately? The cannons make short work of the PE2's which fly over constantly, shot a couple down already. They puff smoke too when you have damaged em slightly.

Anyone notice that the wheels which come off tanks when you've blown em up have physics, and if you hit them they trundle along the ground? Nice little touch hehe.

Had a bit fun practicing with the AA guns too, have yet to shoot a PE2 down though, only tried for about 5 mins. But there are some definite "Armarisms" there, anyone noticed the "wobbly planes" if you shoot them up with MG fire? Looks like they are having a seizure. Quite a few other things too. Does anyone know how to set the portable MG Tripod back up after you have got it stowed? Couldn't work it out.

Overall though, I love it. Scenery and maps in particular are beautiful, worth it for that alone. Great fun and I never really thought I would like this kind of game. Colour me Converted! biggrin

Just had an hour on the SimHQ server. Fun and Mayhem was the order of the day and I enjoyed it. There were a few odd occurences ie I managed to kill my self a few times but at least I wasn't thrown out to desktop or anything drastic like that. cool

I did not have problems, but i saw a lot of guys disconected or having connection problems as there were characters running on place and not being killable!

I never noticed that Gunny, was on with you too. It definitely wasn't me being invulnerable, as I was instantly dying as soon as I spawned most of the time lol. No one I shot at was invulnerable either, definitely not. Did you see the messages I was typing? ( I was "Skellen" if you remember). There was only 4-5 of us at the time.

Was starting to get a bit miffed at being ignored after saying hello lots lol....didn't know what was going on at first. Still, I suppose playing computer games is a very serious business after all, forgot about that bit. biggrin I didn't even know what a bloody death match was and I thought we were all supposed to just, like, be friends and "come together" to fight teh foe and ting. biggrin Clearly not. In hindsight, the clue was in the name. hahaha

Does it have a comms TS? Probably missed it, that would be better than typing its a PITA.

I knows the ways, now though. Won't happen again. hahaha

Again, a reminder that the SimHQ IF server is really the ironfront.exe working in server mode. It may or may not be part of the problem, but soon as the official next IF patch arrives, we'll update. wink

Comms... SimHQ has a dedicated TS3 channel just for Iron Front (in case you didn't know). For connection details, click on the Multiplayer link in the links bar at the top of the page.
