I agree that it is terrible what happened to these employees and that the behavior of the employer was dispicable. However, I also think it's terrible that the tax payers in RI will now be saddled with this 75 million dollar loan that went toxic. Of course I'm sure all of us here know that the taxpayer is the one who eventually foots the bill when a public loan or investment goes bad.

The made my most favorite RPG game.. Hope they'll recover somehow.

This is a classic example of your eyes being bigger than your wallet. He was trying to build the "perfect" MMO from what my sources tell me and just spent way too much money. As a newer crew they should have started small and worked their way up and gained experience before being so ambitious. I'm not an RPG guy, but I hear their first release was quite good.

400 people is probably half the work force in tiny Rhode Island!

Making a successful/profitable game is a really hard thing even if you have many millions to spend.
