One thing I'd ADORE would be to be able to skip the intro movies in the SP campaign...

Is that possible?

Fafnir, I've just bought RO2 at Steam store, there are 2 downloads: Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad and Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta. In total they require 16Gb of HDD space, so which one of these two is superfluous in context of the new upgrade (Year Edition)? I'm interested mainly in the new stuff in this game that you posted.

Thanks,
Dirk.

If you are only interested in the official game you can forget the Beta.
Beta is only for those who want to follow the weekly(?) little updates that Tripwire is releasing constantly to look for players feedback.

komemiute, I was asking about this part:

Quote:
The bug fixes, gameplay enhancements, community requested changes, a new map and numerous other changes that TWI has been working on in the RO2 beta for the past quarter are being released as a huge patch on May 23 as part of a celebration of RO2's PC Gamer - Game of the Year win. I encourage all former RO2 players who set the game aside shortly after release to give this new version a try since it is markedly superior to the original release with so many fixes and enhancements

So, does the above apply to the both or the one with "...beta"?

Cheers,
Dirk.

Hello Dirk98,

Welcome to RO2 smile. Komemiute is correct in that the RO2 Beta is optional. The comment above applies only to the full release and not to the beta. In fact, I would recommend against downloading the RO2Beta at this time. There isn't any testing going on in it at the moment, so downloading it would be a waste of time and bandwidth. Every once in a while, TWI will request community feedback on changes they are planning to release in an upcoming patch. If that happens then downloading the RO2 beta would be worth it. When they do something like that I will post about it in my RO2 news thread here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3518487/Red_Orchestra_II_News_Thread_v.html#Post3518487 . If you keep an eye on that you'll know about any RO2beta testing, upcoming patches, or major mod releases as they come out.

Cheers and happy hunting,

Fafnir_6

All is clear, Fafnir. I hope then, uninstalling beta won't disturb my main installation.

Cheers,
Dirk.

No worries. The RO2 Beta is completely separate from RO2...Uninstall away smile.

I'd be interested in this too. I'm not sure if it has been brought up in the TWI forums. I can suggest it there, if you like.

Cheers,
