A couple of shots of one of my favorite cars (993 GT2) at my favorite track:

Loving the Porsche DLC pack thumbsup but man Turn 10 must have one of the slowest servers on the internet, downloading these screenshots from the "MyForza" site is always ~75 kb/s... yawn, wish it supported saving the detailed ones to a thumbdrive like GT5/PS3 does, if it does and I am ignorant of that let me know.

Nice shot! I've uploaded some pictures and videos, but I've never gone online to check them out.

You know, as our resident Ring King, I think you should pick a Porsche and a set of restrictions (view, abs, traction, stabil...) and have a mini Forza contest. Like the rivalry mode, but I don't think you can set up a custom one, can you? Players could get a screenshot with their time to see if we can catch up to you.

Thanks Raw Kryptonite.

Yeah I've never succeeded in figuring out how to setup a Forza4 session where you race through slower traffic like the Rival mode races, which is unfortunate as that was one of the features I most looked forward to in the Forza4 previews i.e. simulating a real Nordschleife tourist track day, all I seem to be able to do is setup a multiplayer race with AI of the same class of car and race the AI.

If someone knows how to setup the race through spaced out slower traffic please share.

I'll definitely start tracking some lap times in the various cars at Nordschleife and post somewhere, I did that in GT5 for a while after it was released and it was a lot of fun.

I set up a track day-like event in MP with AI like you mentioned, and by manually setting up the AI cars to various ratings, the bulk just below the rating of my car, with a few even slower cars mixed in as traffic creators. You can set up each car specifically for the AI players.

Set the grid to be ordered in increasing order by car rating. This way you can first have a honda civic going first, getting ahead, then slightly faster car launches, slightly faster car launches...on up to you...followed by a few cars with higher ratings than yourself that will launch after the delay after you're gone.

I use about a 3 second delay between car launches, which gives them a chance to get mixed up a bit. By the time you go, being towards the rear, 30 seconds or so have passed since the early cars left. There's a decent amount of traffic in front of you. Play with that time to get it where you like it, but each second makes a good bit of difference.

Put a couple of cars even higher rated than yourself in too, they'll launch after you this way with the delay and give you something to worry about from behind.

I like this set up more than the track day mode it's got built in, which just seem to have way TOO much slow traffic. This way you can customize the traffic to get it competitive, with a few roadblocks in front of you to dodge and create some backed up lines of cars.

Wow cool Raw Kryptonite!

I didn't know I could set the individual AI cars as you described, but I will definitely be trying this out and it sounds like it should be perfect to save as my favorite AI racing settings for regular track days of all the awesome cars in my garage.

It was a game changer for me when I figured that out. I probably had more long sessions like that in Forza 3 than any other racing. You can save the game set up, but not the list of cars you assign to the grid, unfortunately. It's fun to change them up anyway.
I may have forgotten something, but you get the idea.

Btw, check this out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C3%BCrburgring_Nordschleife_lap_times

I haven't gotten to test in-game times to these, but might be fun to try to match some real world times. Nice list of cars/times there.
I wish we had Clarkson's diesel Jag in Forza. LOL

Yeah these kinds of racing through traffic events (especially at Nords) have been my favorite events in FM4 Rivals, and in GT5 with the AMG Academy events, but I was always disappointed to not be able to do them with a car I pick, it sounds like you found the magic settings for the Forza series at least, so I will definitely be trying this out tonight, big thanks.

PS. if this uses the MP AI racing mode I bet there is even a nice XP and credits payout if you win the race.

PPS. Yeah I love that Nords records list and I have used it in the past to compare GT5 laps to the real thing, there was even a special award in GT5 if you could beat the real world Nissan GTR record using the default GTR with no adjustments which was not easy to do, I tried comparing real times as well with FM3 but I think the track as modeled in game is a bit longer, but I will revisit with FM4 in case they got the balance better.

That's the beauty about the Nordschleife, so many auto makers take their performance cars there that you can have fun comparing different models in the games as long as the track and car modeling is decent.

Raw Kryptonite, your instructions worked like a charm using MP AI and Advanced Options, what a blast.

Was driving the 959 this time, backend is loose off throttle as it's supposed to be, nice gentle drift here:

I wish the track was modeled as well as it is in GT5, but you can still get some decent screenshots if you find the right areas where the textures look good:

Glad to hear it!
I wish Forza had better textures too, it seems too smoothed over a lot of times, not to mention the jaggies. Still a great looking game, but after spending time in Shift 1 again, and even 2, it's a bit of a let down. LOL
