It's usually the same over and over. It's better then most stuff that is in the same category (reality show). But I don't undestand it's popularity.

You're not alone on this. And you can add Ice Truckers, Swamp people, gator rednecks, motorcycle building and just about any other reality show on these days. I remember when the history channel used to have good shows about history on. Oh well, these are the times.

I can't fathom the popularity of any of these so called 'reality' shows. There is very little reality in them ..but I guess that they are super cheap to make and pull in lots of advert revenue so they are good for the TV companies.

When you figure that one out, please let me know why ANYONE cares what ANY Kardashian is up to..and why in the hell I even know the name at all...

Even the Romans and Greeks knew very well about the human fascination with trivialities and with being shocked. Humanity hasn't really changed all that much.

I watched Deadliest Catch for the first season and that was it. As you said same old after that.

Yep pretty much same here. Watched it sporadically off and on since. It has a strange appeal to it I suppose, but I like watching documentary type stuff.

You left out Tanked and Chainsaw Ice Sculptors...

I watched the first 3 seasons and found them very interesting - after that the show went formulaic and the crews started acting their parts and the show lost that reality feel.

At least they donīt have to pretend that what they are doing is dangerous, because you can see it is.

I think the reason people tuned in before was because people had heard how dangerous crab fishing was up there and then they were able to see it for themselves WITHOUT going to actually do it.

As for the shows about so called stars...well sometimes real people are idiots and they do the stupidest things by turning those shows on.
