I have a version of 4.08m on my hard drive that shows an opening splash screen ( the screen that shows the version ) and the wording is in Cyrillic alphabet symbols. Is that buried in the IL2fb.exe or is it a function of some SFS file?? Can I put it in English? Not really that big of a deal but I would like to fix it. I like to have a nice copy of 4.08m at all times as a base copy to patch up from if needed.

Did you download the Russian version of the 4.08 patch by mistake? We found a Russian version of v4.08m and uploaded it at M4T recently so if you downloaded from us there is a possibility that you got the wrong one.

This was not recently by any means, I've had it for a few years. So if I did an over-write with the non-Russian version I'd be OK?? Funny, I had a standard 4.08m version with an English splash screen for a long time but lost it somehow. Now I'm left with only this.

Since you had a clean version at one point I don't think getting the patch again will solve the problem. If you have modded your version at some point it may be a mod that didn't get uninstalled when you removed the mods.

I have never seen this problem so I don't have any idea how to fix it.

This has happened to me about 5 times and it has to do with first UP3 and then DBW. Both of them caused this for me as well as block type. I just kept trying.The last time I did it all the way from a cd with 4.07 and finally got DBW to work.

Guess what? My other install with 4.101 was working perfectly undated to 4.11 and I have a Russian splash screen and block type. The Russian splash screen is always 4.09 by the way.

I wish I could help but I just spent frustrating hour after hour downloading and re-installing. I bet I wasted a good 40 hours and then all of a sudden it works.

I would definitely like to know what it is about the v4.09m patch that is causing this particular problem.
