Good racing guys, shame I got a stop go, otherwise I thought I had the pace to challenge at the top but it wasn't too be. Sorry for fighting up front but I was desperately trying to get back on the lead lap when cautions came, I missed out by two seconds on two occasions. Well Done Stewart.

Congrats, Stewart! Awesome racing those last 17+ laps! I did just about everything I knew to try and get by him....man, he made that car wide that last run. I think about half my front spoiler's eaten away from his LR tire. biggrin

My apologies for pranging the wall on lap 3 to anyone that I screwed up....lost all aero grip all at once and had nowhere to go. Also, my apologies to Matthias and Lugs if I cut them off running wheel to wheel with Stewart during that last battle...I was trying to watch both front and back and might have missed someone.

Big thanks to Doug for putting on one of the best races I've been in for quite a while. thumbsup

I didn't know you could make that much contact in these cars. biggrin

It really was like watching a stock car race for a bit there.

No way around it - Stewart earned this win the hard way. cheers

Thanks Guys. That was an awesome race for me! I knew what you were trying to do with regards to getting your lap back Dan but I also knew you had better pace than me so my best bet was to keep you a lap down. I knew I had to make my car as wide as possible for the last 17 laps or so and I did my best to do that without weaving all over the track. I couln't believe it when the yellow came out on lap 84 I had decided that would be the lap for my final stop and with everyone else conserving fuel at that time, I was going to be in a great position for the win. Then when the yellow came out with one to go I didnt know whenther to laugh or cry! I was in my zone at that time and I hated having my concentration ruined by that yellow but it was all good and I managed to hold Steve off and get my first official race win here at Sim HQ. Steve didnt make it easy though and it was a hard last 17 laps. Great racing Steve, hard but fair and above all a whole barrel of fun! Thanks to Doug for hosting and well done to all the runners!

What A Race!

It seems like every weekend you guys top yourselves!

A big, big, congratulations to Stewart! A huge drive and a big step up! It didn't come easy either. Mr Gee was tough as nails, and Matthias and Chad and Dave were all in play. Half-a-second from 1st > 5th place, with the first 4 cars all within .100s of each other.

How close was it? If you get the chance, watch the final 15 laps from Steve Gee's roll bar!

I feel badly for those whose race ended early but at least as a consolation prize you got a great seat to watch the race. If the real Indy is anything close to that, it will be historic.

Promoter hat on: I was anxious we wouldn't hit the 15 entries mark but several came in during the final few minutes, so we just made it *whew!*. Considering regulars like Saghen, Pumbaa, and henny were unable to attend (where is henny anyhow?) we could have easily made it a 20 car race. So lets try for Sunday, 22 July and have an evening race on the high banks of Texas in these bullets.

I'm adding 60 images to the screenshots forum right now, and will link back.

Here's another screenshot showing the finish:
