SyFy Channel is getting funnier all the time

So I was channel surfing last night and I came across one of those new "Made for SyFy" crappy B movies. I caught it during a scene where it showed some USN officers walking on the deck of the USS Iowa. That was immediately followed by some stock footage of the Iowa leaving port and heading out to sea. Then I realized what this movie was. It was a cheesy B movie knock off to capitalize on the release of "Battleship" this weekend in theatres. Ugh.

I tuned in for the last few minutes of it and laughed when I saw the stock footage of aircraft coming in with Mario van Peebles saying "here comes the cavalry" and the planes coming in were C-130's and acrobatic aircraft. The kicker where I really laughed for a long time was not only that but the C-130's dropping racks of bombs with the "pheeeeeeeew" sound of the bombs falling.
I hate I wasted 20 minutes or so watching that crap last night.

i never watch SyFy anymore i refuse to even turn it to that channel.

I watched a few minutes of one of their movies a few months ago. It was "Rediculouslyoversizedmegacroc vs Supergiantdinoshark" or something like that. Dinoshark kept attacking this battleship.... it would leap out of the water and smack the ship with its tail while the battleship was trying to fire broadsides at it. Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. :lol:

Sy=Synthetic, Fy=Fantasy. WWE is both of those. Sorta like the History Channel no longer being a "history" channel. The Learning Channel becoming The Lame Channel. I like the original targeted marketing cable stations much more than the current everything is mass market confusion that cable has become today. I even liked to watch the original TNN ( the Nashville Network), before it changed to Spike.

Yeah, I never watch SyFi myself anymore. And Tarnsman is right about History Channel, Discovery, etc. About the only thing to watch there anymore is Mythbusters. Have you tried to get the weather on The Weather Channel lately? You'll end up sitting through an hour of Storm Stories or some such crap. I swear that if it wasn't for my NASCAR addiction, I'd just turn my satellite service off. It's getting to be a big waste of time and money.
