Hello again I am returning after an absence . Its great to see this sim going well , and I am grateful for the hard work that has gone in to this , thank you to every one who has contributed .

I am getting a fairly consistent CTD about half an hour into any mission . The top of the crash log is as follows:

Executable build date: Dec 4 2011
Executable build time: 21:29:09

Crash details:

Location: 00470e7f
Reason: Access violation
Tried to read from memory location: 0xcb0836e8

After this is a hex dump I will post it if anyone thinks it will be of value

My PC is a fairly routine dual core pentium which has windows XP and ubuntu 10.04 dual booting ( EECH is in fact the only reason this PC has windoze on it )

I have a suspicion that it may be a hardware thing related to the graphics card , I wonder if anyone has any thoughts?

Thanks again

At first I thought that this crash was only happening when the view was being changed , but yesterday I let the the autopilot fly the mission just using the external view and the game crashed about 30 minutes in . If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful .

Kindest regards

Alastair

Have you tried disabling the rotor downwash effect?
I was going to post a reply amounting to "ditto", but on a hunch disabled the downwash and was able to fly missions in Thailand (guaranteed crash within minutes) for 4 hours straight.

Anyways, before disabling the downwash, my crash log gave pretty similar information.

Location: 00470e7f
Reason: Access violation
Tried to read from memory location: 0xcacf3648

Of course, I understand what that means about as well as a platypus understands shame, but there's a same location there. And the problem manifested as seemingly random crashes to the desktop, even though everything seemed to run just fine until that point.

As for my hardware,
Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1
CPU: Intel i5-2500K, 3,30GHz quad-core
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti
RAM: 8 gigs of DDR3
Audio: Creative SB X-Fi
Running a 64-bit Win7, and using Saitek X52 hotas with TrackIR5.
