And we are know how important my opinion is... Lol...
My biggest beef with Diablo three is a new health system in the old way you had health tubes or whatever you want to call them and you just hit your H key whenever your red globe got small it was easy and you knew but now there's like a delay or something for Health so you can't do that and it really puts you, especially fighting bosses, in some hairy situations.
Also I spent a lot of money upgrading my blacksmith to be able to build me something cool but he never builds me anything that is bigger or better than what already have.
I find all this cool stuff down in the dungeons and it it gives me better stats than what they can make me or what I can produce making myself kind of defeats the whole purpose.
By the way I did this whole post with my voice using that new dictation software cool huh, lol.

Hmm.. I've not noticed any delay in the health potions taking effect (using the "q" key) but there is a cool down between being able to take more than one potion.. I like this as previously to beat the bosses it was a case of just spamming the Q key. Also I spent a lot of money upgrading my blacksmith to be able to build me something cool but he never builds me anything that is bigger or better than what already have.

Agreed, I just use the crafty abilities to make gems better to place in socketed items i have found. By the way I did this whole post with my voice using that new dictation software cool huh, lol. I tried this and whilst it's cool dictating posts, i want it for use in iRacing and the like but I haven't got the patience to figure out how to build a profile.

I've not had any of your issues Magnum, but I have a few niggles with the 'always logged in' thing. Now originally Blizzard said we had to be logged on as they now have this auction house but you can't access it in game. So why be logged on?
When my son is on Xbox Live and I played Diablo 3 he immediately complained his game was lagging and was ok when I exited the game. Also, I had terrible rubber banding and slow down like you would get in an MMO.
Now, I don't want to get into conspiracies here but it does seem very odd that this is happening, like I am constantly sending and receiving data and I shouldn't be. Definitely something going on in the background.
EDIT: And as if to underline my point, the Battlenet servers are down so I can't play my game... That's really not on.

I can understand the cooldown time for health potion use, but it gets irritating to die while waiting 30 seconds to drink another one. maybe if they made the cooldown time only 10-15 seconds instead of 30? That would prevent you from being invincible if you had enough potions to spam your Q key for a slong as you needed. It would also give you more of a chance to walk away from a bad situation where you're completely surrounded by tough enemies and your CoOp partner is already dead...
Totally agree with Mace about the online only crap. Day 1 it took me over 2 hours just to play the game in singleplayer. I'm fine with publishers demanding us to activate a game online the first time we use it, but this "always online" BS needs to die. This game isn't World of Warcraft FFS. (for the record I haven't had any troubles since the first 2 hours of release day, but I know it will happen in the future. It's inevitable with this kind of thing)
People still play Diablo 2, after like what, 12 years? Seriously wonder what the odds of playing D3 12 years from now will be? Will there even still be a Blizzard or Battle.net in 12 years?

Thats what I mean, and liked about the first 2 Diablo's... spamming the health potions and hoping you have enough for the big battles. I don't like the new cool down system... but obviously, just me. and BTW, played all weekend, thought for sure I would have connection issues, but none... in each time, first try... later in the night (last night) I did notice I would warp back a few steps once in a while, I always thought I was getting knocked back, but then when it happened 2 or 3 times with no monsters around, I realized it was that connected to the server crap... so I agree, pure BS to be connected like that for SP. I'm liking the game, enjoy playing it... but with all these types of games I usually only play through it 2 or 3 times with different characters then move on... so that auction house and MP don't really appeal to me.

The cool down system for the health potions isn't helpful and it will likely get us all killed during a huge battle. Diablo III does give the player some of the dead enemies hearts though and they restore health as you pick them up. From a survival point of view, the old system in Diablo II was better. Occasionally I would die because we were swarmed with enemies and I couldn't spam health potions and mana fast enough during the fight. Then it's back trying to recover your good gear in your pajamas with a butter knife in your hand!

I remember the original Diablo. At first, the only way I could kill him was to fill up my bag with health potions and have maybe six mana potions on my Wizard.
I came close to dying once last night because of the health potion cooldown. It was on one of the boss mobs but I can't remember which. I ended up kiting the guy until the cool down expired and then hit a heal and killed him. For those of you who don't know what kiting is, it's running around and staying ahead of the mob, trying to stay just out reach of him.
I got through Act II last night, at least I am pretty sure I am at the end of it. I didn't do the final quest, but I did kill the guy I brought back to life. I got back to town and have to talk to Leah again. I figured it was a good stopping point for the evening. I am about 12-14 hours played so far. I am very much enjoying the game.
I knew about the always online element to the game and bought it anyway, so I really don't have room to #%&*$# about it.

It's really fun playing with friends. The mobs pop like pinatas when they die and loot sprays all over the place. It's great.
Can't wait to try it with 4 people at once. I imagine it's even more explosive.
I finished the game and now am on a harder difficulty level. I will now be able to upgrade my jeweler and blacksmith!
Yay!
Also, don't forget to walk into Leah's room and her uncles room after each mission and read their updated diaries. Free XP!

I kind of agree with you Mag on the cooldown health potions. But, it does make the game more challenging so I guess that is a plus, eh? I haven't run into the blacksmith problem thou, you must just be lucky and get all the good loot I kinda miss having to recover your body thou,.....oh the memories..
