Going out on Penalties is a terrible way to lose a football match. I was a German for a day. I feel sorry for Bayern, respect and commiserations from NUFC.

Well, too bad. The better team lost. Bayern was dominating Chelsea the whole game, but were too complacent when it came to scoring. The missed what felt like 50.000 chances. Plus Robben not scoring the penalty, and then Schweinsteiger and Olic losing their cool during penalties. What a screwed up season. Bayern came in second place in all tournaments (league, German Football Association Cup, and now CL). Disappointing. I think it's a sad day for football/ soccer that a team with such a destructive playing philosophy can win the most prestigeous European Soccer trophy. Just ask Barcelona, the best team in the world. Nevertheless, congratulations to Chelsea.

Your country and my country has a history in penalties. We often won. It was about time. My team could easily have had avoided it. So congrats Chelsea. The winner takes it all.

While Munich certainly was the better playing team, Chelsea showed real guts and had a decent portion of good luck on it's side in the end. Munich should have scored several times, but they blew it, especially that penalty during extra time.
So congratulations to Chelsea, but I hope the style of football they showed against Barca and Munich is not the future of this sport.

Chelsea showed True Grit and played to their strengths against both Barcelona and Bayern, well done to them. I'm sad to see the Pommies unable to put aside their local rivalries for the day and support an English team, what chance does the national side have if the players are as bad as the fans.

You're not wrong, I texted some congratulations to a friend of mine who's a Chelsea fan , he called me back saying I was the only one of his friends to do so. All the others ( Liverpool fans mainly) were 'supporting' Bayern. Pathetic really. Ho hum. Anyway, congratulations to Chelsea.

The hatred is very real. You can't simply forget that because your rival team happens to be playing a foreign team. Your logic doesn't really make sense either: Local rivalry = bad, but national prejudice = good. Football fans will always go for what's best for their own teams, or what's worst for their rivals, It's a natural part of being a passionate football fan and happens all over the world, do you honestly think that had Barcelona been in that final the Real Madrid fans would be cheering them on just because they were Spanish? I can tell that you two aren't genuine football fans. I was actually supporting Chelsea, and will be congratulating my Chelsea supporting work colleague, but only because I saw that as the best outcome for my own team.

Well to be true Bavaria was indeed better and had much more chances - how not, Chelsea did not really play but just blocked all the time, and then won lol. Hey, they learned from us, this was the revenge for 20 years of "standing football" as Germany "played" it back then in the 80ies
