i'm a big fan of xoomei / khoomei
learned to do it at around 19 years old after becoming fascinated with mongolia.
still haven't been to mongolia yet but would like to make a trip there soon. not far away from japan really. i do play an instrument somewhat similar to what the mongolians use occasionally for songs (like a 3 stringed banjo). you can see one in the second part of the clip, snakeskin covered square banjo thing.
xoomei is very dangerous to attempt if you don't know how - you can totally destroy your voice - it's not made in the natural way of speaking, if you try to make the same sound using your normal voice you'll just trash yourself.
