Our Official Form is now located at SimHQ. Many thanks to Doug Atkinson for hosting us.
This is due to CA forums being down still, and no info or indication of possible outage period. We would like to thank Combat Ace for what has been a truly great home and hope they get up and running as soon as possible!
We had to make a decision on how best to cater for OFF users and ongoing new customers on our official forums and given that the long unknown outage at CA is affecting us. We hope both will be available still once CA is back up.
Over the next few days a little more customisation will be added to the forum here.

Good news... As I just installed OFF recently, I still needed to download a couple of mods at Combat Ace. If the problem goes on, any chance of finding them somewhere else ?

I've just posted info on a new version of OFFbase, so check it out. Hopefully other mod authors will follow suit. Right now there's no topic in the Downloads forum for OFF, so hopefully that'll be sorted soon.

How about directing us to the FAQ article that describes the process for uploading our files to the Downloads Section.

Hi Chaps! I spent the day checking in on CombatAce and wondering why the site was down. I also frequent SimHQ and I'm glad I took a look at the OFF board. Of course, seeing such a high number of people viewing made me a bit suspicious that I wasn't the only one getting a 404 with CombatAce. I'll be glad to hear what happened to the site. It will be a big loss if the rich amount of posts created over the last few years winds up being lost for good. That said, I've been around SimHQ for a long time - I used to live on the European Air War board, which is still alive and kicking all these years later. This is a good home for us, should the need be more permanent. Glad to see my fellow OFFer's making their way here - safe harbor and all. Gads, I must sleep - nearly 3Am here!

I still have hope, that we will also be able to get back to the old forum again. I had lots of stuff uploaded there, it looked great, it "felt" fine and easy to communicate; and I made good use of the PM system with a few friends. I'd miss it.

Hi Guys,
We cannot and will not keep swapping official forums unless circumstances beyond our control dictate otherwise.
This is the new Official Forum for OBD OFF and WOFF.
I am sure once CA is up again the old forum will exist but we as a company need one reliable point of contact for technical queries and announcements, and asof yesterday that place is now SimHQ.

Well, well, well, All change at Crewe. I wonder what on earth happened to the CombatAce site. How very odd. I hope someone hasn't locked the coin box for the meter and disappeared on holiday with the only key. He'll be popular. We all know sites go down, but the deafening silence is very odd and a bit out of character for a pretty well run site I always thought. Makes you wonder if it's something uber-serious. Life goes on however, and hello to all the new faces!

Life goes on however, and hello to all the new faces! Hardly 'a deafening silence'; with CA featuring TW sims prominently, it's to be expected that the CA folk are responding on the TW forums, as indeed they are, to the effect that CA will be back up at some point: http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB3w/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9132

Sure Lima, it is silence if you don't happen to frequent TW forums though. We had a prominent official forum there too I hope, but have had no other info come our way email or here etc.
Not easy for us to cope with an unknown outage for unknown length of time when you have new customers and users wondering where to go. It also coincided exactly as we posted a brand new video we wanted to announce and have users enjoy and discuss. I know it's not CA's fault but could happen when we launch WOFF too?
For us to to operate the forum must be available all the time, or at least back up in short time with notice.
We enjoyed being there and are very grateful for the home and of course still hope CA and the OFF forum is around when they come back up but we have to be able to rely on the forum.

I understand your points Winder and Pol, and think you've made the correct decision. But nonetheless I feel sad about CA. Very sad.
And many thanks to SimHQ, in quickly providing us a new home.
Well at least we've uncleal, back.
I'll warn Hassewind about the new forum.

Hey guys big apologies from CA, Combat Ace will be back up and running. The outage is purely technical and we are working to get it back to the exact place it was before . The individual who is our technical heart and soul has been out of the country with very little access to the web. This has impacted the recovery time.
That being said SimHQ is a wonderful place to land . Being a long time member here I speak from experience when I say that.
As far as the files, I do not anticipate anything being wrong with them and they should be up and running the moment we solve all these issues. I wish I had an exact time frame but I do not . I also do not anticipate taking much longer.

It's like with the sims - we must not always think one-way about competing only - one OR the other. We live in great times; we can have both.

Glad to hear CA will return, cause allot of my stuff, I can steal from there to post here
That will allow me to re-retire this XP machine, everything works BUT @2.4Ghtz and 8600GT
Where as the Windows 7 @3.6Ghtz and GTX480
Far from Cutting Edge, but the difference in performance in OFF is amazing

It's like with the sims - we must not always think one-way about competing only - one OR the other. We live in great times; we can have both. Yes we can visit both. But from my personal experience, being a moderator in Slitherine forum, it's good to have just one official forum. Slitherine and Matrix games in spite of being the same firm, they have two forums, one in Matrix the other in Slitherine. So for the same game we have always two forums. Jesus! It's a mess sometimes. Besides it's bad to have the community spread in two forums, for all the reasons.
