Would have been more believable if it used a contemporary plug instead of one off of some device from 1958.

What do you mean "more believable"? I, for one, am happy that AMD has decided to go with an AC outlet as it will reduce the cable clutter in the case. It's a great design idea!

PS: re: 220 v is this only for the European market?

I got a cable with the same plug on it with a Gateway monitor I got a couple of years ago, it also had a UK and EU spec cables with it

I imagine they'll release a similar design for the NA market as well. I'd rather not have to sell my ATXXXX on eBay, the cost of shipping scares most buyers away...
