Other "great" sequel material:

- Casablanca 2: Showdown at El Alamein
- The Return of Forrest Gump: This time he's even dumber
- Revenge of the Seven Samurai
- The Downfall 2: Voyage to Argentina
- Apollo 14
- Highlander 2....oh, wait!

Titanic II. Wow.

Not only was there a film,

But there's also going to be a ship!

Sure Ridley Scott is the only one to be trusted with that, but even then, I can't see how Blade Runner can get a sequel. It was a perfect story to be told as it was, in one movie. I doubt I'll want to see it; the miss will kill me if I rant for years afterwards, which is the likely outcome...

Fancher wrote the early BR scripts, but was then out of the process for the later versions. "His" BR would've been a different film from what we finally got. The BR interviews with him make clear his dislike for several aspects of the finished film made after his involvement ceased. Would "his" BR have been better than what we got? No one will ever know. Will history repeat, and he once again be supplanted after the early stages? Will that be better or worse?

I can't remember. Do any of the BR extras mention specifically which aspects were changed from the Fancher version to the final version?

Yes.

Don't ask me what they are, though, it's been months since I watched it last (for only the 2nd time) and I don't remember what he said. He mentioned a few things specifically in addition to more generally.
