I dont see the 7 maps I downloaded - should I see those maps in the list?

Yep, they should be there. Double check that you've got a path like this:

@whatever-addon-name\addons\*.pbo

If your maps are in separate folders, one of those paths for each. If you've combined them, then all in the one.

From there check your shortcut.
