Is there any book available which describes K2 controls and screens?

SIROKIY / UZKIJ you should know from the Volhov SIROKIY/UZKIY LUCH.

Yes I know it also from Vega (1,4 and 0,7 degree beamwidth, the switch with the green light). But what is POLOSA SIR and UZK and especially in connection with the leftmost switch on the target tracking panel?

The S-200VE Vega-E (SA-5B) system was designed to fulfill 3 different purpose:

- Kill the SR-71 or its successor
- Kill the incoming BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles with the CW tracking
- Kill the NATO standoff jammers

As killing NATO Standoff Jammers was one of the priority of this system, it has several options against several types of jammings.
I described those options in this topic, some time ago...

RUCNAJA UKAZKA - it is not simulated. i believe it is manual picking of the target (when a lot target returns are visible on the screen.
GRUPPOVYE - manny jammers (group jammers)
Click to reveal..

POLOSA UKAYA/SHIROKAYA - as I understand it, when GSN lost the track, it starts scanning in a narrow frequence sector for couple of secconds, than in wider sector and it always starts from higher frequency (higher velocity) to lower one. In some cases it's better to switch off narrow searching (KOMPENSACIA Fd - not simulated).
KARTINNAYA PLOSKOST- this is a "Dubna" feature (I've got this table from Dubna manual).
When discussed Tu-154 shot down, we wrote about that again, check those posts, because i wrote them down from the manual...

Just remember the thumb rule of col. Zoltan Dani...
... 20s illumination means life, while the 21st second would mean death...
... just imagine yourself sitting in these seats, where HARM worked as advertised...

First question. Are you using the automatic Periodic Illumination or the manual RPC mode? If the former, I must strongly suspect it is realistic since PI actually illuminates rather frequently. To the enemy you probably look like a rotating search radar. It'll help but I suspect miracles should not be expected. I mean if it really works so well, there won't be a manual mode at all!
