Whoa!! Major zombie masses now! It is HARD getting into even a house or barn but makes it so much more worth it as before there were a couple inside and were killed easily but you are kept on your toes now.

Great improvement.

No doubt! I just left a game where the swarming zed helped me to survive. I was holed up in a house transferring items from my Coyote pack to a larger Alice pack. I noticed a survivor walk by the window and he started shooting at me. I killed him and the zed took care of his friends. I took some damage from the zed outside. They were hacking and slashing at the wall that I was leaning against. I got bandaged and moved to the center of the room. Shortly after I lost the session, otherwise I would have had to sit tight in the house.

This is really crazy now. The map is literally crawling with zombies now. Even the coast is now full of them. The only place I found that wasn't full of zombies was a forest. But I've read that other players have encountered zombies in the forests as well.

I've just died because I had no food and no drink anymore. Somehow, my whole equipment was gone when I finally managed to join a game today. Joining a game is a real pain in the neck momentarily.

Let's see if the increased zombie count will encourage players for some more team play.

The exponential increase in zombies is a but they should be about half the number. He fixed an old zombie spawn bug and then increase their spawn rate but didnt expect it to increase that much. The next patch should dumb the zombies down for good or bad.

I think Rocket is looking for the "upper bounds" on the zombie horde with this patch. I'd expect him to be tweaking that for some time.

BTW, I like the new logo as well. Much better than the original. I think he needs to get some hint of red in there though.

I think it's good to tone down the zombies a bit. I found a hunters cabin smack in the woods. There sure was a big bunch of zombies there too, but no loot. Might be fine for those clan guys but for me, myself and makarov it's just too hard. I'd like to see some civilian ai in the game one day, it would be refreshing. Imagine stumbling upon some small settlement with a desperate family fending off the hordes with the hunting arsenal. The next time you pass by they might have succumbed or turned into zombies.

I spent 45 minutes without ammo today. I was hidden in the treeline somewhere along the coast, watching the first timers being hunted down by packs of zombies. It was brutal but also off the cool scale. It was a bit like that scene from 30 days of night where the camera films a struggle from above. In a desperate try to find some bullets I then was killed by at least twenty marathon zombies. That new panic yell is disturbing to say the least skyisfalling

What are the steps to install this mod? I went to the DayZ main page and nothing make sense with the download at the top of the page or the steps listed in the forums.

I just made an @DayZ folder in ARMA and then put an addons folder in there and unzipped everything into addons. Then just make a new short cut on your desktop with only the @DayZ mod listed.
