Wow that's a lot of buildings! How's performance? Your screens are great, so sharp, especially compared to my FSX on full settings.
Being born in the country, I'll never get over the huge amount of Skyscrapers and multistory apartments. lol

Being born in the country, I'll never get over the huge amount of Skyscrapers and multistory apartments. lol It's not about FPS, of course, but smooth flight. FPS in the middle of all those buildings is in the teens but flying is very smooth. No stuttering or slow ups. If I gain a little bit more altitude, FPS shoots up into the 30s over the most dense part of the city. It's awesome to see the actual building where I work! And I saw my favorite NYC restaurant on Pier 17! I have 12GB of RAM and 3GB of Video Ram on my GPU. Maybe that helps.

Ahh that would help I guess, 8GB and 1.5GB for me. About 15fps over the city, <10 round Manhattan. Ok for airliners, not so much for single props.
Edit: With all the config tweaks of course.

Great shots. Im partial to this scenery, not just because I live here, but because I think Aerosoft did an amazing job with it. NYC is never a place for great frame rates. You got 3 major airports and the city in the middle. That being said, for so many buildings, its doesnt kill the frames as much as you would think. They did a great job optimizing it.
The FS9 version was good too. and Manhattan X is on sale this week for $17, so If you dont have it yet, Go get it. Also, it converts quite nicley to X-plane with a free utility. (Not sure how Aerosoft feels about that though)

Edit: With all the config tweaks of course. This is enhanced scenery. It's Manhattan X from Aerosoft. With stock FSX New York, I get FPS in the 30s down low even with sliders all the way to the right. This enhanced scenery cut my FPS in half but flying is still smooth without stutters. I don't have any config tweaks, and I'm running with DX10 Preview checked. Gives better FPS.

Shot number 21 is above Ground Zero! Look down where you seen the yellow construction crane. That's the hole. That's where the twin World Trade Centers once stood. Of course, another tower is partially constructed in real life but the scenery doesn't show it. But it does show the hole.

Edit: With all the config tweaks of course. Just to be sure you are aware...this is enhanced scenery not stock. I installed Manhattan X from Aerosoft.
