Same here, except for getting a new PC in the meantime. But other than that, wonderfully stable. Knocking on my head . . .

That's because with its structure, it doesn't corrupt like XP, which was expected to naturally need a reinstall every 3-4 years.

Ive re-installed it 3 times so far, but only because of Motherboard & CPU changes.
Its been very stable for me and I have no intentions of going for Win 8.

The best part is I got Win7 Ultimate for free by throingw a win7 house party when it came out.beercheers
It was silly, All I had to do was invite a few friends over and show them win 7 and take pictures of the event. They sent me napkins, Ballons and a puzzle, win7 tote bags for all my guests and a copy of win 7 64 bit Ultimate for me!

I have only had to reinstall once and that was only because of a computer upgrade.

Wonderful operating system.

I actually hope to run mine on to the next hardware (remove specific drivers, clone system disk)... hopefully no more ground-up reinstalling in a long time. I keep my registry squeaky clean, it should not 'age'.

Same here, but I'm about to get an SSD so a fresh installation is inevitable.
But I'm sort of dragging my feet on this one smile I hate having to install and configure everything again.

Two times since February 2011, when I built the system in the sig, but always due to hardware faults.

First the HDD died after 4 weeks, then the SuperTalent SSD had before my Crucial did me the same favour.....

7 allows you to create an image for backup, a heck of a lot better than doing it all yourself. You do need another drive (physical) to store it on though, which is why so many people don't do it or know much about it.
Since you're adding a drive, this would be a great opportunity to do a clean install, put your usual software back, most up to date drivers and then before going to normal use or online, create your back up image on your secondary drive. You want to create the image when your system is at it's optimal point so as to be the best back up you can make. Then next time if you have issues, you apply the image to the drive instead of reinstalling. Takes minutes instead of hours.
