I don't get it. I installed the beta over a clean install of COD, and then installed the absolutely AMAZING Wick vs Dundas addon from Disastersoft and it's a whole new game.

There are much fewer little glitches (although there a still a few) and the game is much, much improved from an FPS and stutter standpoint with only the occasional stutter, even over the densest terrain with a large number of aircraft in the air.

In short, the game is now VERY playable for me, whereas before the beta patch and the addon, it wasn't. We are getting much closer to what we expected originally. And, I am running the game with almost every graphic setting maxed out.

I'm very impressed by the Wicks v Dundas pack as well. Which side are you flying? Mind giving the JG2 mission 1 a whirl for me? See if you have a launcher.exe error when you approach Le Havre to land?

Its funny, in mission 1, you're flying as Wick's wingman, he leads a perfect high bounce of a lone Blennie scout, and proceeds to ram him (2/3 times I've flown the mission, I keep getting a launcher crash so I count as dead and can't go on...)

Hmmm. Didn't happen for me. But code can be so random. Suggest you just restart your campaign at the next mission, which the WvD campaign engine allows you to do.

That would deduct a potential kill mission (got to beat the leader to the Blennie! haha), but more importantly, I'd feel that I skipped content, there's got to be something I can figure out that's causing the crash, its in nearly the exact same spot and time in each sortie.
Mr. Voss and I think one of his tech guys/coders thinks it's in my system (beta video drivers, with FSAA tweaks in Nvidia CP) or the Alpha state of the latest patch. Tonight, I'll roll back the patch and test, video drivers I'm not quite as willing to give up on, heh.

I suspect a triggered event, maybe related to the reduced comms? But I'll have to dig into the scripts to find it.

Just because you (and I) are not having the same problems as some are doesn't mean that they are spoiled and shouldn't complain, just think if the reverse was true and you were having issues and someone who isn't was mocking you, I think you would be annoyed at that comment. Unless you are just being sarcastic...

The way I see it, every game has complainers, and people for who the game generally doesn't work for, but it's always so odd to see such a variety of systems ect. complaining. Some turn out to be running old dual cores having 9800GT video cards, others have the latest and greatest. I'm always curious what % of these peoples computers/operators are the problem, I know things like tray tools will give me a launcher crash, I can only imagine how many thousands of random programs are out there causing similar circumstances. Not even to mention hardware.

It might help if we can be comfortable making fun of ourselves. I think simmers are spoiled brats, I am a simmer.
