Heard nothing but glowing reviews of it until seeing this thread. Maybe if it isn't pissing down rain tomorrow, I might go see it.

Saw it last night and I thought it was a very well made film. The balancing act between serious drama and comedy worked very well except for a couple of scenes near the end where it felt a bit awkward IMHO. Just a question for you guys who may be familiar with the backstories and comics, So how exactly did these aliens find Loki? They just found him floating around in outer space somewhere?

[spoiler] In the comics the Chitauri consider themselves the immune system of the universe, they wipe out civilizations that are harmful in their eyes. At the end of the Thor movie, SHIELD shows the doctor the Tesseract and ask him to work on. You see Loki in the mirror controlling the doctor what to say, so its safe to say Loki knows what it is and seeks out the Chitauri.
A question I had, in the scene after the initial credits, the new villian, is that the guy from Green Lantern? /[Spoiler]

I was invited to go to this movie last night but turned it down because I am sick of Hollywood superhero movies. They bore me.

Thanks for that info ripper.
Just found out that "The Avengers" just set the all time record for the biggest opening weekend ever. It made 200 million, crushing the record previously held by the last Harry Potter movie.

Yaaaaawn..but anyway, got to compensate by coming home and eating some nice grilled prawns and watching Lovely Bones(yay for acting)...erased Avengers and now listening to some tunes and hoping the rain clears for the weekend.
btw , what happened to Bladerj ? Assumed you were being a contrarian fuddy duddy Ajay, and after seeing the film I was right on the mark! Great movie - everything I expected and hoped for. Don't like Caps costume though.
