Hello guys, I was thinking about purchasing this game but first wanted to know if the online multiplayer community is active. I was wondering if its like the IL2 series, where you can just hop in a server and immediately fly your way into a dogfight.

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

There's quite a few servers running now, with lots of choice in terms of location / realism and if they run the latest patch or not.

I'll let the (quite rightly enthusiastic) members provide their individual server details, but here's a snapshot of the 'Client' MP join screen just now:

Not sure about your time zone, but late evenings (8-10pm PST) on West Coast, USA is dead. Most night less than 5 people combined through all the servers.

Most of us are waiting on a big patch that's supposed to fix a lot of the problems with the game. If/when that patch comes I would expect multiplayer to pick up quite a bit.

But IL-2 in its heydey was much more populated than it is now. However, the ATAG server is almost always populated during East Coast prime time.

I just finished a rousing 2-hour session on the ATAG server, and when I signed off a few minutes ago (11 pm EST) there were about 30 people in the server.
