Does anyone know if it will be available as a digital download or retail only? If yes to either, where can I pre-order?
Cheers

Thanks for the info on this, I was wondering the same thing yesterday. I'd prefer to get it on Steam for immediate access, but I don't see it listed in Steam's database as of yet.

Great thanks for the links. I would prefer digital but looks like it's gonna be retail. I had seen on the forums that a Steam version would come later though.

Pre-ordered from Play as Amazon usually send things out on the day! £15 pretty good and MP looks great.

I'm seeing conflicting reports about this. On the developer forum one individual was claiming a later Steam release, but a moderator claimed that there would be a Steam version available at launch (I'd link the site, but I'm at work so I can't access it).

Alright, so I'm curious as to where other US customers are pre-ordering/buying this game from. I'm super-hyped about it, and would prefer to get a downloadable version of it for first day access. I'm stationed in North Dakota currently, so games at our local retailers are usually a week late or so, but so far every location I've contacted doesn't even have the game in their database in the first place. A few of the sites listed for downloading it are unknown to me (I use Steam or Gamersgate, and neither has any definite plans for an immediate download on launch from what I'm hearing), and it isn't even listed on Amazon in the US.
Anyone have any recommendations?

This is a stand-alone game then? I thought it was a mod for Arma 2. I just re-installed Arma 2 all ready for it.

Had my eye on this game a few days after buying RO2 on it's release. I had a feeling this would scratch the itch RO2 missed. Looks like I could be right. Think I mentioned on the TWI forums at the time and was shouted down by many saying it would be rubbish. A definite purchase.

This is a stand-alone game then? I thought it was a mod for Arma 2. I just re-installed Arma 2 all ready for it. This is something that alot of people kept throwing at me when I brought the game up saying RO2 may be in trouble when it comes out.."it's just a mod"..I tried tellling them it was stand alone to no avail. I think a fair few people are\where under the impression it was a mod you had to pay for. Though it's always been advertised as a standalone game.

Got a permanent ban from there after telling a mod what he could go and do.

Not to be a spamming lunatic, but we're one week out and still nothing from the publishers for US sales? Makes me mildly concerned when considering how well the launch is actually going to go...

We got an e-mail into the dev asking Santhonax... and for a few others don't forget in the forum agreement we do not allow bashing of other forums or mods... "bunch of dicks' would be crossing that line... FYI.

"bunch of dicks' would be crossing that line... FYI. You guys have been great about asking questions, so never had a concern about your end of things. The general concensus seems to be (at the developer forums at least) that the developers are super, super busy working on the game before it launches. Good on em' on the one hand, but fairly worrisome that it still needs that much work just before launch on the other.

Setting-up distribution channels and getting inventory to suppliers is supposedly as painful and cumbersome as some development. I know of at least one big distributor who will not list till they have inventory in their warehouse, then after it arrives, the SKU stuff has to be logged-in, forms, pricing in multiple dominions....etc., etc.

Why does everyone want things on steam so badly? Honest question.
If you want a digital copy you can get it from the Bistudio store.

If you want a digital copy you can get it from the Bistudio store. It's £5 more expensive there. I have a pre-order from Play.com for £14.99. If it comes on Steam for the same price I'll get from there as I want all my games in one place.

Ah so it's a case of not wanting shortcuts to games on your desktop or taskbar. I see.

Ah so it's a case of not wanting shortcuts to games on your desktop or taskbar. I see. You can still have desktop shortcuts with Steam games, I just prefer to have most of my games from one place rather than spread around and I forget where I downloaded them from in case I need to reinstall

Why does everyone want things on steam so badly? Honest question. Consolidation. Ease of backup. Re-installation very simple. Patching done through Steam. I'll always opt for a Steam version over any other method if possible. Just makes things so much easier.

I concur with all these points, and it is about-turn from what I used to think about steam when it began downloads years ago. Cheers, Dirk.
