The visual for the engine oil leaking has also been removed in the new patch. I noticed this after recording a bomber intercept track in 1.06.x and replaying it in earlier versions.
Hence alpha What does that mean, I'm not supposed to post my observations because it's "alpha"? No we're pretty strict around here about posting our observations. Strict rules

Okay Just an observation here I recently did an in place re-install of Windows, this unfortunately did not fix the problem I was having so last night I re-formatted and did a fresh install. Steam and most of my games are installed to a separate drive and when I started up Cliffs of Dover it acted like a new install, I hadn't yet put the 1C Soft Club folder back in My Documents. When I ran the Black Death Track it had all kinds of weird colors, 110's with bright White code letters and Yellow crosses, etc.. just all kinds of strange things I didn't have before so I put back the old 1c Soft Club folder and everything was fine. I'm thinking that this is important, just as back in the day with FB certain tweaks to the config file were important for getting perfect textures it might be the same with CoD and you guys should try making some adjustments to your settings including your Vid Card, it might be worth it. The top setting "anti epilepsy filter=0" was probably what cause the funny colours in Black death to dissapear, and the chances are that was all you needed to do. It has caused weird colour issues ever since the last official patch and is enabled by default. I appreciate you probably don't want to reinstall the old conf.ini to test this out, but if you have a copy of the original 'untainted' conf.ini I'd be interested to see it, as I'm sure I've done more fiddling there than I can recall, and I'd like to see how it works with the beta patch, minus the epilepsy setting of course! If you could post it that would be much appreciated.

I'd say it was the Anti Epilepsy kicking in that caused the graphical problems as i too was experiencing that issue.. Anyhow removing the patch and going back to the previous patch, as i keep getting CTD's and Freezes...But the patch was offering an improvement in FPS on my system with everything Maxed out @1920x1080 Alienware Aurora i7-960 @4.0ghz 16gb Ram Ati 6970

Its bitterly disappointing to see the bomb craters are still alpha.  7 years of developement and 14 months of alpha patch and we got: alpha bomb craters. It almost makes me want to douse myself in maple syrup and sit on a hill of fireants.

Hi
After the patch, I've a black with a red square screen just before the game start. The patch bring me massive freezes / stuttening. Didn't had before aply it, was running just fine, only the annoying multiplayer CTD.
Anyone have this?
Any cure?
I am thinking of uninstall the game and install it over again. I'd buy the Russian digital version, but can't find any regist of it, and can't remember the site where I buy it. Just want to go there to check my serial number, just in case I'll need it.
Anyone had buy the Russian digital ver? Can you point the site where you did it?

Just right click on CloD in your Steam library and select Properties-local files-verify game cache and you will revert to the latest release version.

CoD resolution is 1024 X 728... low I know, but I still have a very good 4:3 CRT and like it. I'll try pumping the resolution soon to seee how it affects CoD.
After mucking about I have to admit, though originally I wasn't impressed, I'm happy but confused.
I have several single player QMB missions that I traditionally play. For me they are my bench mark because I am familiar with them and know what to expect.
Free Flight France in a 109E3.
Fre Flight England in a Hawker Hurricain along the coast of England.
Bomber Intercept Hawkindge
Free Hunt 109s - with the option to go after Blenheims or Wellingtons.
and finally London Sightseeing in the Spit.
Prior to the patch I'd crank the settings as high as I could and maintain pretty graphics while maintaining acceptable playablity for me. Typically that meant trees were low, grass was ticked, SAU (or what ever that graphic option is called)was on, medium amount of buildings with high detail. Shadows, plane detail was high. Clouds were MED level.
I was able to sight see Calais relatively well, though Level of Detail popped in and out quite generously. LOL I wasn't fighting so I was more interested in the candy wrapper than the candy. For my system I was pleased. When I flew low over cities, I'd get a steady freeze, but it wasn't so pronounced that it killed me. Reember my PC specs.
Flying the Hurri over the Cliffs of Dover was still a nice experience. Low over cities I'd get the same level of draw in and Level of Detail pop up.... along with the same freezes.
Flying over London in the Spit was a different story. Consistent stutters with frequent pauses - probably from loading textures. If I turned down trees, amount of buildings a notch as well as level of detail I could fly okey dokey, but still with stutters.
The two fighter missions I'd attempt would be a mixed bag, though the more promenant problem was when I made initial contact with the enemy. Frequent pauses and lag ocurred on my original settings, but they also happened on my lowered settings.
Fast forward to Saturday. Frame rate was smoother, but the stuttering was so pronounced I couldn't believe it. Not good. Even after restating the game, restarting my PC, detailing my installation process to assure I did it right I was getting less performance. I shelved the game for a day or two.
For sh!ts and giggles I decided to fire up CoD today and fly the Spit over London. Ummmmmmmm WHY is it so smooth over London? I changed several graphic settings, numerous times in the map and it was still smooth as silk with minimal to no freezes. There was relativel LITTLE pop up with almost no discernable Level of Detail pop up on the buildings. NONE!
Here's the kicker that confuses me. No matter the setting of trees and grass, SAU (whatever) building detail etc... when I fly on the outskirts of London or in the 'greenlands of the country' I get stutters.
I currently fly with building detail on high (not max, but next level down) and density on MED. No stutters and pretty silky frame rate.... especially for my system.
I just finished flying Free Hunt 109 and had no pauses of interuptions when meeting the enemy. Same with Bomber Intercept Hawkindge.
If I could figure out the stuttering over the outskirts of the city and farmlands I'd be 100% happy with the graphics rewrite (bearing in mind I know they are finalizing the missing ingrediants).
I think tomorrow I'll install FRAPS and bench mark the sim. It's not perfect and there are issues that personally drive me bat crap crazy but I think the team is on the track with graphics for at least low end systems.
Not sure if my internet would effectivel handle online. I usually download patches et al @ about 88kbs per second. That's slow, so I don't wanna get kicked or cause lag for other players.

 I flew IL2 on a 19" CRT and started with 1280x960, but as I got more performance performance, I set the res to 1400x1050. You might like that res too.
