Moggy old chap, do you have a list of the planes used historically by both sides on the Anglo-Iraqi war? Can only found incomplete lists. Thanks.

Several days work over the past few weeks has given me some of the basic textures for the Vickers Valentia, but not enough yet to start building the 3dz. The other troublesome model is your Bristol Bombay, which I can't find any good scale drawings.

Hi Col L,
Wrong Valentia! Vickers built a couple of seaplanes with that name in 1921 (originally called Valencia) but when they were asked to build the latest version of the Virginia/Victoria series of bomber/transports in 1934, after some haggling the Air Ministry told them that they should call it the Valentia as the previous version had never entered military service. Confusing is it not?

It's funny that so many aircraft have no written histories. Lots of Moggy's planes are between the wars aeroplanes which only saw fleeting service in WII before being paid off. That DH Dragon is a case in point, Do a search for DH Dragon, and you find almost nothing on the Dragon, but loads on the Dragon Rapide. All I've got is a rather wonky scan off of that blueprints site.

Hi Moggy.
I have 2 volumes of those books, but neither have the Dragon. Can you scan it and send it over? I'll then, take a look at Jan's model, and convert it properly for you. It's easier to start with something, than from scratch.
Are any of your other nightmares in the Fighting Powers books? Bombay, Ju90, Vincent, Valentia?

As a kid aged about nine I flew in a Dragon (not a Rapide) from Squires Gate around the tower at Blackpool when I was there on summer holiday with my parents. Jel

John.
I have Bombay and Vincent in Putnams - Vincent is just a Vildebeest with Army equipment. Should have some details on Ju 90 as well. Will dig out and email.

Hi Peter. I have them too, so don't worry. I was just hoping there was some better drawings out there. I have no underside views from the Putnam's books, which is a shame.

Hi John,
As to the Ju90, I know that the combat reports mention attacking them but my wife has hidden my Aircraft of the Third Reich by William Green which I know had some info. As I am sure you know there were only about 11 or so built, all prototypes. The first 4 seem to have had the wing of the Ju89 and the first 2 crashed quite soon. From V5 onwards some if not all had a revised wing much less swept and akin to that of the Ju290. The horizontal and vertical tails were also changed and at some point the windows changed from rectangular to round or vice versa. The last few "B" types were converted to 290 prototypes and although I know some served in Norway I can find no mention of Iraq! Perhaps this is a question best aimed at Fran and Knegel.

Thanks chaps for this activity. I am a bit circumscribed myself at the moment having fallen down the stairs here and broken a bone in my leg. So that's plaster cast for six weeks. Rather stops you getting about.
