I'm looking at getting a "used - like new" copy of FC Platinum off amazon for $11 shipped.

Will this work with the DRM if the copy is registered to someone else? When I activate it on my PC will it simply deactivate any previous activation? Or will i have issues?

I'd be cautious - the key for FC2 may still be in use - or worse expired.

My recommendation would be to order a copy from a retailer online. There are a lot of cheap copies floating around (it originally retailed at $20). IMHO, keys were invented as much to kill the resale market as they were to reduce piracy.
