I can't answer your question, but Ssnake or somebody else here can help you.

I'd like to get my current vanilla copy up to the last v2.5438 before the v2.6 pay-for update. Is that possible? I think I need a new license file downloaded to the dongle however... I've updated thus far to v2.328 but it won't launch any more with the new dongle software. frown Any suggestions?

Why?
(Not, that a version 2.5438 ever existed... maybe you're referring to 2.538?).
Every major upgrade is a separate, stand-alone installation. If you insist on it, I can probably arrange to sell you a license for SB Pro PE 2.5 before you buy a license for version 2.6... from a functional point of view it is however not needed.

It's always helpful to know what kind of an error message you're getting.

Yes, sorry a typing error. v2.538... If getting the 2.538 update costs cash, I'd skip it so I can put that towards v2.6 when I have the cash. However, can I get 2.483 working with my existing license?

See I've been out of the Steel Beasts world for quite some time now, and I'm looking to get back into it. The last version I had was 2.304 but that nor v2.328 will launch. Gives the error: "CodeMeter or WIBU-KEY runtime system is not installed!" even though it is, and it launches vanilla SB Pro PE. I tried updating the CodeMeter system like it says for the v2.3xx updates, and then SB Pro PE to go along with it, but that error occurs.

I'll try v2.483 by itself and see what happens even though the notes say I need v2.460 installed first, which I cannot seem to find as a download on the site.

Only if you have a 2.460 installation disk, which is not available for download.

Which "vanilla" Pro PE?

Uninstall everything related to CodeMeter. Maybe you have several parallel versions installed (has happened in the past).
Do it through the "Add/Remove Programs" applet in the System Settings.
Once that no more entires are listed, download the latest CodeMeter runtime.
Then do a firmware upgrade. Start the CodeMeter Control Center, click the circular arrow in its main window, then follow the on-screen instructions.
Then try to launch SB Pro PE. If it fails, run the CmDUST program from the CodeMeter program group (/Tools subdirectory). This will, after some command line activity, open a Window with a new file named CmDustResults.log. Send it, along with eventual error messages, to Support@CodeMeter.com (and CC me, if you like, so I can monitor the support process).

Thanks! I'll try all of that.

Cheers sir! I did not realize v2.460 was a pay-update.

Hello sir! Sorry for the long delay in response. I did manage to get it working properly with the last SB Pro PE license I purchased (v2.370).

Thanks for all of your help!
