FWIW, my card is now selling for $579 at Newegg (with free games) -- I only paid $450 (with free game). Some got it for $401.

Don't know why its the most expensive air cooled HD7970 today. But, it is a good card and I wondered why it was the cheapest HD7970 when I bought it.

Apparently, Nvidia is not providing enough competition.

All the 7970s have gone up, the MSI Lightnings have Hit $600 at NewEgg, But its Arguably the most sought after 7970 for its Power Control Features, and its construction.

The $75-$100 premium on the 75MHz overclock is overkill.

the Non OCs are still $450-$475

I have a second hand HD7970 from a guy who went to a GTX690, this saves me some 100,- euro.
