Playing the Iran/Iraq campaign as the Iraqis.

I have a T62 with a little plane icon assigned as the fourth tank to one of my platoons - I assume this is so I can call in air assets?

If so how?

The plane icon means that you can assign a spotter there, not that tanks can call air support. You can assign a spotter instead of that tank (if spotters are available of course).

How can I assign a spotter to the tank platoon? Is it from reinforcements tab?

Didn't see anything there - maybe no spotters on the Iraqi team.

Iraq does have mi25 hinds but I can't remember if there are any air spotters that you can assign. Then there is Iran with no air supports......which I find odd. I mean they did/do have f-14A's, AH-1's, F-4, F-5 etc.... Just saying =).

It depends on whats available for that platoon if your playing in the campaign. If your playing a quick battle, what's available to the platoon depends on what was reasonably available to the sort of formation, so even in a quick battle you may not have spotters avialible if I remember correctly.

You'd see the spotter in the reinforcements tab if they were available. Generally you're more likely to find them in infantry, mech, or scout platoons. I tend to play with the ability to command friendly units on and use the spotters in the supporting infantry units.
