Seems the Universe according to the experts is expanding and will eventually end in the big crunch or really just fly apart down to the Atoms...
Correct. If spacetime continues to expand at the ever increasing rate that it is doing so at the moment, our atoms will eventually fly apart. It is a misnomer though, to completely rationalize spacetime as accelerating its rate of expansion and is better comprehended when you spatialize the fact that our fabric is akin to the covering (brane) wrapped around a ball as you blow air into it. Two points that are close together expand slowly when you start but later expand faster yet, the outward expansion from the center (the origin of the big bang) remains a similar rate to the start of the expansion.
I'm simplifying here but start with this to see what I mean. As it gets bigger, those two parts are further apart (imagine them as atoms) and as it continues, they get farther and father apart faster. Eventually, the strong atomic force will no longer be sufficient to hold them together as the distance becomes too great.
All this makes sense until you begin to realize atoms might not be atoms but instead composed of vibrating strings...
kinda wierd how it all began tho. but I wonder what does the Univers Expand Into?? is that just dark matter beyond the edge of the Universe, or is it just a voidless expanse the Known universe expands into??
The edge of the Universe is possibly just that--an edge. Beyond it, nothing. Not nothing as in empty space, but no space--nothing. This, of course, assumes you know and comprehend what "nothing" really is. The truth is, none of us do. That's right! None of us. Nothing as in, I hold up a jar with no air in it or any other molecules--what is it. People answer--nothing! Right, but, what is nothing? This is the most important question mankind can answer right now.
As far as what is beyond the edge--it is nothing but probably a boundary that separates our Universe from others. Maybe we're just in a bubble...
Remember, our ability to spatialize dimensionality is limited by our current plane--i.e. the 3rd (direction) and 4th (time), beyond that, we can wander into higher levels but not even sense them as we're trapped on our current plane... all the way up to eleven, to be precise. Read up on M-theory, it is fascinating.
Oh, and watch this for a start:

If you grasp these, you'll have many more questions I can assure you.
