WEAPONS MODS!!!

Great news!

I'm glad that 777 produces add-ons that I agree with, since I'm buying anything they sell, by default, anyway... ;-)
Addicted? Nooooo! I can quit whenever I want to...

I agree with adding more guns to Albatroses...FliK 41 was fond of it.

..but Lewis guns? dizzy

Central had a lot of Lewis guns available, they fell out of the sky pn s regular basis…Crews seem to have been as impressed with them as Entente flyers were. I read somewhere that MVR had captured Lewis guns set up round his airfield for extra AA defence. They were also used instead of Parabellums for observers, maybe they were lighter or handled cold conditions better.

LOL Mog'

"...fell out of the sky on a regular basis..."

...while there may be some truth to that, it sounds more like a nifty little tag line! Falling out of the sky from an average of ten-thousand feet, on a regular basis or otherwise, tends to make a Lewis gun pretty darn unservicable! But even if a few were still worth using, how long you think it took until you needed a replacment part...

But, be that as it may, I'm still ok with it. Heck, the Albies already have the "trophy aldis", let's give them the "trophy lewis" to go with it.

Nah, I think it is/was a game-balancer move - So I support it and made the purchase!

...but don't kid yourself. With the new working foster mount.....the Central Powers side needed something to prevent the masses from screaming "allied-bias!"....erm'...no wait....that already happened didn't it?

Bottom line though -- it's going to be a ton-o-fun playing with all these new toys!!!!

[EDIT]: Looks like you're right Mog', thanks to, and I quote, "the BE2c/d/e delivery Service" hahaha

More toys, less genuine feel. I hope they are enjoyed but "moar gunz" isn't what's going to provide a satisfying experience of aerial combat.

I don't think 777 is playing "Moar gunz pl34s3".

...I think it all has to do with the upcoming channel map. These new cannons are anti-sub guns.

Nothing less genuine about it.

...the new foster mount...

It's what some would argue a long overdue addition.

Nothing less genuine about that either.

...but all these new features sure do help the Entente cause....

So what does 777 do so Central doesnt feel left out and cry Allied Bias?

...I think this is an amicable solution......for now.

I bought mine.

[edit]: Excluding rear-seat turrets - with the new foster mount, and upward fixed Dolphin/RE8 guns, many of the entente crates can now shoot "other than fixed-forward". Central would have NONE without the Lewis gunned Albies. Gotta' give them something, yeah?

The Germans apparently had so many captured Lewis Guns that they rechambered some of them for their 7.92mm round.

And yes, they were mounted on German aircraft:

Extremely cool responses guys! (and extremely cool update Jason)!

I wonder if there is any chance that gun jams will get an overhaul (to produce types of gun jams which are a bit more punishing....)

Anyway, it is a going to be funny to watch newbie load up with the maximum firepower and then go down in flames... It is a shame that the Fokker E.IV isn't actually an E.III variant (as that would give D.H.2 pilots a lot of pleasure).

When an allied aircraft ditched or crashed on the German side there were normally a few things that could be salvaged and the lewis guns were almost never destroyed. They ended up with a very large number of lewis guns and ammo but re chambered quite a bit of them to 7.92 and installed them on a wide variety of aircraft.

*woops there was a page 2 and I was beat to the punch.
