Hey all,

Want to announce a new mission type I have completed and am testing, based on some of the work I did for (the also new) Invasion game type. This should have some more general interest though, as it's not like Evo/Domination gametypes. It will be released alongside Invasion.

The principle of the Dynamic Mission Machine is that it continuously spawns a mission for players to tackle, usually the destruction of some target (e.g., radio tower). The target can appear anywhere on the map (that the designer has predesignated), and players receive only a rough indication.

This is intended to be lead by an overall squad leader, like any SimHQ mission. It is flexible for 1-16 players -- the OPFOR strength will be based on the number of players connected when the mission is generated.

Players can then select a specialization (simplified to gear, not like Invasion classes) from a crate in the main base. The squad leader will specify what specs he would like to have, and also the structure of the fire teams. Then you can pick your group (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc.) (If you're playing single player or have a low player count, you can also recruit AIs like Invasion/COIN.)

You can then take the vehicles (respawning) from the main base and assault the objective. Light armor, APCs, jets, attack helicopters, and transport helicopters are all available -- you will face a formidable enemy! There is no revive system, to encourage careful mission-style play, although after testing is in complete post-CBA rollout this will be perfect for the TaoDamage system. Players who are killed will respawn at the base after 60 seconds, and can grab an ATV or light vehicle to rejoin the fight.

As soon as the objective is clear, a new one will spawn -- forever.

All-original features:
- Tao Dynamic Mission Machine, featuring 11 different target types and >20 varieties of enemy groups
- TaoIED system, including ambushers following a hit
- Invasion Air Loadout system, allowing aircraft to be equipped depending on the mission needed
- Invasion Air Hunters system, continuously spawning enemy aircraft to threaten pilots

- More than 40 possible locations for the target
- A different fight every time thanks to extensive randomization

The first release will be set on Zargabad and feature USMC vs. Takistani Army/Militia. The second release is a surprise!

That sounds great, hopefully the test runs on SimHQ are very smooth and bug free so the rest of us get to try it out sooner than later winkngrin
