Towards the end of The Blues Brothers, Steven Spielberg makes an appearance in the movie as Cook County Assessor's Office Clerk. All these years and I never noticed until last night.

LOL!! You serious? Man, I recognized him the very first time I watched the movie.

Even though I was told before I saw the movie that there was a model of the Millennium Falcon used as part of a building in a scene from Blade Runner, I could not see it until I got the Blu-Ray...and even then it took some effort.

I don't think everyone else knew it..but I didn't realize it until I was told that the bartender at Pancho's in The Right Stuff was the real Chuck Yeager. I guess I had sort of tuned that out..

I don't think I noticed Spielberg when I first saw it, but I saw it when it first came out, and I didn't really know what Spielberg looked like at the time.

I can understand that since in 1980 Spielberg had up to that time only directed two very well known big films. As for me, I think I first saw The Blues Brothers on tv in the late 80's.

I first saw The Blues Brothers in 1982 at a German movie theater. I remember Cab Calloway introducing the band in the last concert scene . . . "Die Blues Brossers." Also, in the German version Elwood called Sister Mary Stigmata "Die Penguin Tante," which means "The Penguin Aunt;" instead of just "The Penguin."

My first cable movie . . . one of the earliest I remember is the remake of King Kong on HBO, the one where he climbed the world trade center.

My first cable movie was "A Bridge Too Far," I think. My house didn't have cable, but I was really into WWII history at the time and some friends of the family knew that and invited me over to watch it when it came on HBO. I don't think they knew it was almost 3 hours long when they invited me .

Pains me to admit it, but it wasn't until last time I re-watched them that I noticed how much the background extras in all the Star Wars prequels are incredibly lame and stupid. Even the CGI ones... Just standing there doing dumb stuff...
Cheers

I didnt realize this was Simon Pegg until just recently. I'm so used to the manic guy with a strong british accent.
I like that scene..

Band of Brothers has several actors that were unknown at the time who became well known later on. Two that come to mind are Jamie Bamber and James McAvoy.

The most laughable part in BOB is Jimmy Fallon showing up! LOL. "I've got ammo!"

I just found out Levon Helms (drummer/lead singer in "The Band" (RIP)) was Chuck Yeager's buddy and the narrator in "The Right Stuff". I knew he looked familiar, but it never connected.
