Maybe true. If so, then MS doesn't belong in the genre - you have to be committed to producing a a serious sim in order to produce a serious sim. As a fan of serious sims, I'd rather have sparse pickings to hoard than bucketfuls of trash to pick through.

This is what I fear too, but I recognize it's a pretty irrational fear. As long as there are enthusiasts, there will be products, they'll just start getting ridiculously expensive - the whole supply-and-demand curve they taught us back in high school economics. And I know I'll pay for it, too.

<sigh>Me neither. To be fair, I certainly support folks' right to enjoy what we call "less serious" sims - these games are still enjoyable and entertaining, which is what a game is supposed to be, after all. And I definitely applaud developers for maximizing their return-to-effort ratios (yay capitalism). I just wish I didn't feel like the only guy in town who wants a game with a 700-page manual and a 20 minute start-up procedure.

Again, my concern isn't that "real" sims are going away: I'm worried that cheap "real" sims are going away. I enjoy only having to pay only $60 for a "real" sim.

Again, my beef is based only on the fact that Flight is not (for me personally) fun to play. By play I mean..the missions are boring and the DLC is boring and the MP is boring. Complaining about it is as justified as being a proponent of it. I feel that my $35 (or whatever all that DLC added up to) was a complete waste. I won't be burned again..and that is the first impression that Flight left with me (and probably a LOT of people)..

The marketing team describes it as "no cockpit view is included." I think the lack of a cockpit is supposed to be a feature...?

Announcement that the P-40 is available.

Seriously people, FLIGHT may be free* but FS2004 is only $10 at Staples. It only took me about five minutes to find a freeware P-40B at Simviation and install it...

Flight Studios must have a joker there and the rest just aren't in on the joke and innocently go along not knowing how silly it looks:
