Can I uninstall those mods if I don't like them?

All that's required to remove the mods is to delete the various folders provided. The mod folders don't exist by default, as the game loads 'em only if they do. You could always use JSGME just to be safe...

ah yeah I figured that out. The mods are great! Seems the space background textures are also upgraded. Any other mods I should know about?

Here's a quick list of mods included in the collection:
  • Improved Asteroids
  • Improved Nebula
  • Improved Stars
  • Improved Port Cities
  • Improved Trees
  • Improved Planetary Rings
  • Improved Capital Ships
  • Improved Warp Effect
  • New Cockpit / HUD

There's also an alternative cockpit that looks really good. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty damn slick:

[EM] Mod - open cockpit - perch

Oh man. That new cockpit looks awesome too!

So I have a question--online, as I notice lots of people play, is it taboo to play the role of pirate and lay waste to other human players?

Hey there Brennus, I have got this now and have set up my stick and Freetrack profile but I do have a problem. Every time I leave the game to adjust something, freetrack profile etc, the game crashes as I try to go back in. Is this a known issue or is there a fix?
I would love to try those mods, but I'd like it to run a bit more stable first if possible.

Boko.

The only problem I have w/ EM is that the TrackIR software needs to be shut down and restarted if I leave the game for any reason, otherwise the software will crash the next time I load the game. Also, try the link below, I found that it was necessary for me, otherwise the game would crash randomly when loading a large number of mods:

Thanks for that, will try it and report back. Can't wait to fly into the atmosphere of a planet and try to land. Haven't done that since Frontier Elite.

Thanks for the links Brennus! I myself just bought this during the steam sale and am having trouble before even finishing the tutorials...

After finally figuring out how to map my CH gear; now I constantly start the game in "Above Camera Mode" with no cockpit and no hud (it worked fine . I've tried cycling thru the view modes but it seems glitched out or something, as it sometimes brings up the cockpit, but only for a split second before going back to either "cinematic" or "above" camera views (it basically flashes real quick on the screen then ends up in one of the two other views).

I thought maybe it was a setting in the options but I can't find any other view/camera keys or settings; what am I missing? It worked fine, then I installed those mods; but even after removing the folders the game still seems stuck in these two views. Any help would be appreciated; I really want to get this game up and running!
